Re: Lakeshore shed
Dear Mr. Teele,
It has come to the attention of this department that you have recently placed a shed on your
property at 577 Park Lane in Orono. This letter is to notify you that building permits are required
for the construction of sheds. Unfortunately the city can not issue a permit because buildings
are not allowed within 75 feet of the lake. Your lot is also over built which does not allow moving
the shed to a different location. Your neighbor's sheds are grandfathered in because they have
been there for many years.
Therefore the city must require you to remove the shed from the property before April 19, 2010.
If this deadline is not met the city will instruct the city attorney to proceed with legal action. If you

Re: Lakeshore shed
Dear Mr. Teele,
On March 30th the city notified you of an illegal shed on your lake shore. You subsequently
requested to leave the shed until winter to remove it over the ice. The Building and Zoning staff
discussed it at a weekly meeting and unanimously recommended to deny your request. The city
has always been very strict on enforcement of the 0 to 75' zone from the lake and it was felt that
it should be removed as soon as possible.
A new deadline of may 10th 2010 has been established. If this deadline is not met the city will
instruct the city attorney to proceed with legal action. If you have any questions please feel free
