Schedule a minimum of one hour for the framing inspection.
Erosion control mechanisms must be installed and inspected by the City

Another copy of the existing survey will not be beneficial. Since you will be changing the size of the proposed structure,
please have the survey and hardcover calculations updated to reflect the changes before submitting. The survey should
also address the engineers comments pertaining to erosion control and proposed drainage on the north side.

I have another copy of the new survey that I will be dropping off tomorrow.
I did leave the new hardcover cover info that was prepared by the surveyor when I gave the building plan reviewer the
new plans last week.

On lanuary 27, 2016 a letter was sent requesting additional information to be submitted. We received an updated
survey dated 1-29-2016. The following items be submitted or revised in order for your application to be considered
complete and for the plan review to continue:
1. Certificate of Survey. Only one {i) copy of an updated survey dated 1-29-2016 was submitted. After further
review of the survey:
a. It appears the existing structure is nonconforming on the north side with a 9.8' setback where a 10'
setback is required. Therefore,the proposed addition on the north side does not meet a 10'setback.
Please adjust the plans and survey to conform to the 10'side yard setback.
b. The erosion control plan is not depicted. Erosion control plans should include the locations of erosion
control measures such as silt fence, bio rolls, construction entrance and any/or other BMPs
appropriate for the site (Survey requirement#24). The erosion control measures must be installed
and inspected by a city inspector before any earthwork commences. The applicant must provide a
minimum 24 hour notice prior to inspection.
c. The survey should depict the proposed drainage pattern on the North side of the house/addition. The
pattern established should be such that no additional runoff from the additional hardcover or
landscaping is directed onto the neighboring property.
2. Hardcover Calculations. The property is located in Tier 1 of the Stormwater Quality Overlay District. Please
have the surveyor prepare hardcover calculations, showing existing and proposed hardcover based on the
proposed project and survey dated 1-29-2016. Attached is a copy of our hardcover information packet.
3. Building Plans. Submit updated building plans reflecting an adjustment ofthe proposed north addition to meet
the 10'side yard setback.
4. Property Owner Discrepancy. The property owners listed on the building permit application do not match the
property owner listed on the Hennepin County website. Please provide clarification and/or proof of ownership.
5. Landscape Plan. Will there be any changes to the landscaping with proposed additions? If so,the C'rty requires
a landscape plan be submitted showin� all the proposed exterior/landscaping improvements, i.e. patios,
grading, sidewalks, retaining walls, etc. The plan should include the name of the individual performing the
work.

6. Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD). Your project may trigger the Minnehaha Creek Watershed
District's (MCWDs) permitting requirements; please contact the MCWD directly at 952-471-0590 regarding
your project. Please note,the City of Orono will not issue a building permit without a copy ofthe MCWD permit
or documentation stating the proposed project does not trigger any of their permitting requirements.

On January 19, 2016 the City received a building permit application for additions and an interior remodel. Staff
conducted a preliminary review based on the information provided and recommends the following items be submitted

1. Certificate of Survey. The partial copy of a survey on file from 1995 does not meet the Cit�s minimum survey
requirements, nor does it meet our survey exemptions. A copy of the Cit�s survey standards is attached.
Please provide two copies of an updated, full size certificate of survey which meets all of the City's survey
standards including any proposed grading. Please note,our engineer has not reviewed the submitted plan,so
additional comments may be forthcoming.
2. Hardcover Calculations. The property is located in Tier 1 of the Stormwater Quality Overlay District. Hardcover
calculations were submitted, however the hardcover calculations should be prepared by the surveyor and
based on the revised survey. Please have the surveyor prepare hardcover calculations, showing existing and
proposed hardcover. Attached is a copy of our hardcover information packet.
3. Property Owner Discrepancy. The property owners listed on the building permit application do not match the
property owner listed on the Hennepin County website. Please provide clarification and/or proof of ownership.
4. Landscape Plan. Will there be any changes to the landscaping with proposed additions? If so,the City requires
a landscape plan be submitted showing all the proposed exterior/landscaping improvements, i.e. patios,
grading, sidewalks, retaining walls, etc. The plan should include the name of the individual perForming the
work.
5. Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD). Your project may trigger the Minnehaha Creek Watershed
District's (MCWDs) permitting requirements; please contact the MCWD directly at 952-471-0590 regarding
your project. Please note,the City of Orono will not issue a building permit without a copy of the MCWD permit
or documentation stating the proposed project does not trigger any of their permitting requirements.
