The sewer has been available since 1992. After checking the assessment roll,it also appears that you have been paying the assessment since 1992. When the sewer project stazted, it was determined that you had five (5) years to connect to the sewer system. This connection was to be made in 1997. Your property is the last property in this area of the sewer project that has yet to connect to the sewer system. The above stated property is required to connect to the municipal sewer system no later than December 31, 2000. A licensed plumber will need to obtain a permit from the City to make the connection from your residence to the sewer line. The existing septic system will then need to be abandoned. This involves pumping out the septic tanks, crushing the tanks and then filling the tanks in with native soils. There is no permit required for the abandonment but the tanks must be inspected by City staff after they are pumped out and prior to the tanks being crushed a.nd filled. If there are any questions regarding this letter, please contact me at the City Offices at 249-4600. Re ectfull , Zu0 Cwc Chris Pence On-Site Systems Manager cc.
