Dear Becky, I am writing in response to questions raised from the property owners at 15 and 25 Orono
Orchard Rd N concerning potential damage to their septic systems. After reviewing the information you
provided to me about the MCWD's proposed project to Long Lake Creek, I feel the proposed water level
changes to the creek and surrounding wetland will not have a negative impact on the area septic
systems.
Septic systems are designed to be three feet above any mottled soil or redoximorphic conditions and
these features take thousands of years to develop. Your proposed elevations will not affect even the
100 year flood elevation let alone changes to the soil.
Sincerely,

I just talked with Jon Monson of Landschute (general contractor) and discussed the septic system
for 15 Orono Orchard Road South. The problem is that the septic system is designed for a four(4)
bedroom mound while the house has four(4)bedrooms plus a guest bedroom for a total of five. I
informed Jon that he has two options:
1. Remove the closet from the guest bedroom. This would eliminate the room from being
considered a bedroom. The page from the house print will need to be changed and turned
into Lyle for approval.
2. Contact Jeff Swedlund to turn in a design for a five bedroom mound. The alternate site
will also need to show room for a five bedroom mound. This must then be approved by
myself.
DO NOT issue a septic permit for this property until this septic issue has been taken care of!!!
