Dear Mr. Spencer:
I have reviewed the site location maps you faxed on 4/21/94 for the
wetland you were interested in modifying for a wildlife pond. The
site is located in the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of
Section 3 , Township 117N, Range 23W (on the west side of Orono
Orchard Road and just north of the Luce Line) . This wetland is not
under DNR permit jurisdiction, so no DNR permit would be required
to alter this wetland.
You are advised that permits or approvals may be required from: the
Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (Ellen Sones @ 939-8320) , the
City of Orono (Mike Gaffron @ 473-7357) and the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers (Joe Yanta @ 290-5362) .
I suggested that you contact Jon Parker, DNR Wildlife Section, for
technical assistance on appropriate design of a wildlife pond.
