Subject: Sew+r Connection Charge, 20 Orono Orchard Rd.N.
Connection to municipal sewer of this property involves a 700-foot extension of the municipal
sewer lines within Orono Orchard Road to the property boundary,the entire cost of which is
being borne by theproperty owner. It is past and current City practice that no Sewer Connection
Charge is required t be paid in this circumstance, consistent with the assessment practices for
neighborhood retro-fit sewer projects which likewise have not been required to pay a Connection
Charge for use of thle downstream system. Therefore, no sewer Connection Charge is due at the
time of the connecti n. The property owner will be responsible for all costs of the connection
including piping in he right-of-way, connection to the home via a pressure sewer and individual
grinder station, inte for plumbing re-routing, septic system abandonment, etc. as well as the Met
Council SAC charg of$2,365.00.
