LOCATION An accessory building must be at least 10 feet from the house (including a deck or overhang) and 10 feet from any other structure. It may not be placed in a drainage, utility or similar easement. Non-lakeshore lots: An accessory building may not be placed closer to the street than the house. On a corner lot this requirement applies to the narrower street frontage regardless of which frontage the front of the house faces or the address of the house; principal building setbacks may be required. Special setbacks and approval apply to a "through lot" (a lot with a street to both the front and back.) Contact the Planning and Zoning Department for more information.
