Hello Trish,
The code for a detached garage (accessory structures) are:
• Detached accessory structures cannot be located between the house and the street
• If 750- 1000 sq ft, a 15' setback is required
• If under 750 sq ft, a 10' setback is required
• Garage doors must face away from street if located closer than 30' to the street
• Accessory structure cannot be taller than house
If you should have further questions, I can schedule a meeting with one of our City Planners.
