A condition of the variance and conditional use approval for the garage and guest apartment renovation requires the installation of a septic system to support the plumbing facilities within the structure. Soil testing and system design indicated that the existing septic system for the caretaker residence could be expanded to support the additional water usage from the garage and guest apartment. Last year two septic tanks were installed which direct the effluent into the existing pumping chamber, however, the required addition of 500 s.f. of drainfield area has not yet been completed. The required additions to the drainfield must be completed within one year of the septic permit issuance on June 15, 1992. Additions to the drainfield should be initiated as soon as soil conditions permit, however, in any case no later than June 15, 1993. Please contact me at the City offices if there are any questions.
