The review is based upon the supposition that the data on which the design is based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. The responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this report. Special care should be taken to insure that the material and installation of the plumbing system are in accordance with the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. A copy of the approved plans and specifications should be retained at the project location for future reference. INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. As specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2830, no plumbing work may be covered prior to completing the required tests and inspections. Provisions must be made for applying an air test at the time of the roughing-in inspection as outlined in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 2, of the code. A manometer test, as specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 3, is required at the time of the finished plumbing inspection. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to notify the State Health Department when the installation will be ready for a test and inspection. To schedule inspections, contact the state plumbing standards representative for your region, or call the metro office at 1-800-926-6216, or Gary Topp at 651/215-0841. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. The location of the project is within a city of population greater than 5000. Therefore, the plans must be signed by either an engineer that is registered in the state of Minnesota or signed and installed by a licensed master plumber who is installing the plumbing. 2. Verify that the sinks are installed in accordance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code. 3. It is recommended that a cleanout be provided where new waste and vent piping connects with existing plumbing to facilitate required testing of the new installation. 4. The water piping system shall be disinfected in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2250. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. 5. Materials used for the plumbing system shall comply with the standards set in the Minnesota Plumbing Code (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0420). All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0320). NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of two sinks are an existing facility. Authorization for construction in accordance with the approved plans may be withdrawn if construction is not undertaken within a period of two years. The fact that the plans have been approved does not necessarily mean that recommendations or requirements for change will not be made at some later time when changed conditions, additional information, or advanced knowledge make improvements necessary.
