Box 66 Crystal Bay, Minnesota 55323 RE: PID # 33-118-23-31-0011 Dear Mr. Jacobs: This letter is written in response to your March 11 request. As we discussed, I received your March 8 letter on Saturday, and was very surprised to learn that a search had been made of my property without my permission. I read the enclosed Code Section 9. 50 , and do not understand how it applies to me. As I explained to you, I would disagree with the statement that all of these vehicles are unlicensed. Collectors plates do not expire. Seven of the nine vehicles are within the collectors classification. Neither is are all of the vehicles in my collection inoperable. As I read Section 9. 50, it applies to an "inoper- able motor vehicle lacking essential parts . " As defined, I do not believe my cars are missing those parts . As we discussed, these cars are of considerable value. It is fully my intention to house and protect them at my earliest opportunity. I will be garaging my collec- tion to protect my investment . I am in the process of buying the property immediately to the south. The closing is now set for March 15. As soon as conditions permit , I would hope to build a pole shed on that property to house most of my cars . I would like to Mr. Thomas J. Jacobs March 13, 1985 Page Two think that these plans would more than satisfy the City and the man who complained. No complaint has ever been made to me. I strongly support the reasons behind "junk car" ordinances like Section 9. 50. Furthermore, I want to have all of my collection garaged; regardless of any zoning laws. Please let me know if these plans are acceptable, or if you would like some additional action or statement. Thank you for your assistance.
