James,
Thank you for emailing me your concept design. As I indicated on the phone, the Orono school campus is
located within a residential district. Click here to be directed to City Code Section 78-1467 for signage allowed
in residential zoning districts.
Because the school is a conditional use in a residential zone, your proposal of 7 or 8 monument signs on the
school campus will require both a Variance and a Conditional Use Permit. You indicated the design sent to us
may not be the final selected by the school. When designing the monument signs, please keep in mind the
City's monument sign requirements. Click here to be directed to the City's monument sign code section 78-
1466(11).
