Re: Horse Barn
Dear Mr. Grundhoffer:
On November 8, 1996 this office stopped work on a horse barn being constructed on your property.
The work was stopped because of the following building and zoning violations:
1. Work without building permit violation of Orono Code Section 12.02.
2. Violation of setback regulations for horse barns Section 10.20N
75 setback required to property lines
150' setback required to adjacent residence.
3. Violation of minimum acreage requirements for horses Orono Code Section 10.20M
3 acres required for first horse
1 acre required for each horse after that.
I explained these requirements to the contractor, Jim Vipond, and he said after consulting with you
it was decided to remove the structure. If you have any questions regarding this matter, feel free to
contact me at my office.
