RE: Fence Height
Dear Mr. Hahn,
The City has received a complaint about a fence at the entrance to your property that is
too tall. Orono zoning code section 78-1405 (7) Al prohibits fences over 12"high in the front
yard. It also appears to cross the property lines and encroach on neighboring properties. The
City understands that you own the vacant lot next door. However, since the property is not
legally combined you are not allowed structures on the property without a principle structure.
This letter is to require you to lower the fence to a maximum of 42" and remove portions
over the lot lines. If you have any questions,please feel free to contact me at my office.
