Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pratt,
It has come to the attention of this department that you have recently placed a shed in your front
yard. This letter is to notify you that the city of Orono requires a building permit for sheds and
regulate their construction and placement on properties. Unfortunately sheds are not allowed to
be located nearer to the front property line than the house.
Therefore the city must require you to move the shed off the property or to submit a permit
application proposing the shed in a conforming location and relocate the shed after the permit is
issued. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss how you wish to proceed.
