TarynKalzer (pj3. ,SI(/ ' -7q 755 Ferndale Rd. N. mac.' C y4 1, - -11bYV4.0• rV" Orono,MN I This sito has an existing on-site sewage treatment system which has been classified as non-compliant by others. The existing tanks will be abandoned, pumped&filled with soil&a tank abandonment report completed by a licensed contractor. This site has very limited space for placing a new system due to stoop slopes, drainage&direction of slopes. A standard system under Minnesota Chapter 7080 rules cannot be designed. The proposal is to Install a Type IV,System under Minnesota Chapter 7080.0179 rules fora Type 1V system,Type 111 seepage bod for Surma rm",Pi` a 5 bedroom home. Approval will be needed from the City of Orono for the system to 'c--°•t/ 2C f 6 be 10'from the property lino due to limited space. Tho west property line will need to be located&staked by a surveyor. The design is for a pressurised seepage bed wit loyal B reatment aal/aq./ft. 962sq,ft,with a 3'separation using 513's#2,3,4& . oil boring#3 f-''—'com soil at elev.97.6 leaving the bottom of the seepage bed at elev. 100.6. Class 1,Multi-Re Aerobic Wastewater Treatment system which Is classified as standard under Minnesota Chapter 7080 rules will bo used or a unit which has positive filtration and an alarm equivalent to a Multi-Flo Unit. The highly treated, filtered effluent produced by the Multi-Flo is over 95%free of the normal sewage contaminants that cause the progressive failure of conventional systems. Tho unit will be a 750 gallday. A trash trap is installed in front of the Multi-Flo Unit. Tho unit requires to be serviced 2 times a year which will be done by Schirmora Wastewater Treatment Systems,Inc. A 2 year parts b service warranty comes with the cost of the unit. After that time, the homeowner is required to carry a service contract at a cost of$225.00 a year(2016 price). A report Is sent to tho homeowner,City,MPCA 8. Multi-Flo yearly. 2 Inspection pipes must be installed,1 to the bottom of the sand fill&1 to the bottom of the rock bed. All property lines will need to be located prior to Installation. The tanks will need to be a Darwin pre-cast 2000 gallon spilt reversed,750 gallon trash trap&1250 gallon pumping chamber#1 with a timer pumping 15.6 gallons every 30 minutes with a to the Multi-Flo Unit. The affluent will flow gravity from the Multi-Flo to a now 1600 gallon pumping chamber(pump#2)which will pressurized the seepage bed. The power supply&switches must be located outside the manhole&pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A warning device must be Installed with a light 8.sound device. This is In case of a pump failure. Monitoring of the drainficld&Multi-Flo will need to be completed per operating permit. If the tanks have less than 2'of cover, the lids, risers &maintenance hole covers must be Insulated to a value of R10. Cieanouts for each lateral must be Insulated&be accessible from finished grade in an irrigation box with a ball valve. A water motor or event counter must be,Instatled to monitor daily Water use. The homeowner is responsible for the water meter readings. The mitigation plan is if hydraulic overloading would occur,a timer could bo Installed to reduce the amount of effluent pumped to the system and also by using the 1500 gallon pumping chamber allows the effluent to be stored during peak use and pumped to the system during low water use periods. The second would be to Install holding tanks. All neighboring walls aro located greater than 100'away from the proposed treatment area. Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and after construction. The treatment area should bo marked off before construction. This design is not valid &the system will need to be relocated If failure to protect the sites for new on-site sewage systems. • l - MAXAMMILLeAth The tacks need to be maintained at•minimum oft than avow 2 years, cheek with • yea pamper to set up a sdaduds.
