Roger,
To followup on my voicemail, are we able to drain into catch basins that are cut into the sidewalk?
We eliminated one scupper to mitigate the amount of water that had previously drained right at their main entry.

Dayna,
I have just looked at your site plan for the re-roof at Calvary Church in Orono. Your proposed relocation of the
scupper drains does not meet the requirements of the 2015 Minnesota Plumbing Code Section 1101.1. "In no
case shall water from roofs or any building roof drainage flow onto a public sidewalk.". This is why the
existing drains are in there current location.No permit will be issued until this issue has been addressed in
writing and approved.
I have tried to call your offices but your phones are not working.
1101.1 Where Required. Roofs, paved areas, yards,
courts, courtyards,. vent shafts, light wells, or similar areas
having rainwater, shall be drained into a separate storm
sewer system, or into a combined sewer system where a
separate storm sewer system is not available, or to some
other place of disposal satisfactory to the Authority Having
Jurisdiction. In no case shall water from roofs or any
building roof drainage flow onto the public sidewalk. In the
case of one-and two-family dwellings,storm water shall be
permitted to be discharged on flat areas, such as streets or
lawns, so long as the storm water shall flow away from the
building and away from adjoining property, and shall not
create a nuisance.
