Re: Building Permit Application 2010-00611 for 4415 North Shore Drive
The City has completed our review of the building permit application for a replacement
boat house at 4415 North Shore Drive which was received by this office on July 22, 2010.
The boat house is an existing non-conforming structure with respect to lake setback,
average lakeshore setback as well as hardcover. Non-conforming structures may be
maintained, rebuilt in kind but are not permitted to be expanded. The building permit
application lists the construction as an uin-kind" replacement. After an on-site inspection
and analysis of your submitted plans it has been determined that the project proposes to
expand the volume of the building. This is not an in-kind replacement. As a result,
building permit 2010-00611 for the boat house replacement at 4415 North Shore Drive is
hereby denied.
