Dear Mr. Kaufhold:
In response to your letter of August 25, 1979, I presented your
septic system problem to the City Council. Their general feelings
were that municipal sewer should be extenc�ed to serve the existing
houses due to the generally small lot sizes and wet soils. However,
no commitment was made as to a time schedule. The City staff will
probably make a preliminary study of the area this fall and may
include it as part of a future project to sewer existing problem
areas. At this time, I cannot give you much of an idea as to whether
sewer is one year or five years away.
The Council suggested that possibly you could locate a new drainfield
on higher ground belonging to the City to the rear of your home.
While I would consider this a temporary solution until sewer is
extended it may be adequate for the time being.
Please call and set up an appointment with me to meet on your lot
and discuss these possible solutions to your drainfield problems.
There is still time �his fall to put in a new drainfield and I
would like to have it taken care of as so.on as possible.
