Re: Moved in Garage
Deaz Mr. O'Flannagan:
This letter is to confirm our conversation regarding a garage you moved onto your property at 3895
North Shore Drive in Orono. The City of Orono requires building permits to move a garage onto
the property.
An inspection of the property revealed the following code violations:
1) 10' setback from property lines required
2) 10' setback is required from other buildings
3) building inspection is required prior to moving a building in the City of Orono
4) building must have a proper foundation.
You indicated that your plan was to reconstruct the building into a fish house. If that is still your
intention, the City must require you to complete the work and remove it from the property before
January 1, 1998. If you intend to leave it on the property, you are required to submit a permit
application and a survey locating the building in an acceptable location on an approved foundation
before January 1, 1998.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my office.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Oman:
This is the letter you requested that I send you regarding the garage on my
property.
As I told you, I am still planning on cutting the garage in pieces and making an ice
house and storage shed from the parts. I have most of the lumber I need, but am
still trying to locate an axle to move the house. I should be able to complete this
within the next two months.
Also, I will check with my wife on the possibility of going through the procedure of
properly tocating the structure and mounting it for use as a garage. If we would
choose to go that route, I will call you for instructions. Thank you.
Sincerely, -
i
