Orono City Code requires that septic tanks no longer <br /> in use must be abandoned. <br /> Although the existing septic tank does not appear to be in <br /> immediate danger of collapsing, the area above the septic tank <br /> has settled several inches and may become hazardous in the near <br /> future. For this reason, we ask that the tank be abandoned <br /> within 30 days from the date on this notice. <br /> Septic tanks are abandoned by caving in the tank cover and <br /> filling the cavity with sand or clean fill.
