re: fence on your property
Mr. Welch:
As part of the demolition of the old structure on your property and building your new
house you are required to bring the existing property into compliance with the Orono City Code
and variances as approved by the City Council.
The fence between you house and the lake near your west property line is illegal and must
be removed. No fence may be constructed within 75 feet of the lake.
SEC. 78-1405(7�b.3. Fences shall not be constructed within the defined lakeshore yard of a lakeshore
lot,i.e.,shall not be located within 75 feet of the shoreline for general development lakes, 100 feet for recreational
lakes,or 150 feet for natural environment lakes.
I understand from talking to you that this fence may have been erected by your neighbor
some time ago. However since the fence is on your property you are required to remove it.
Since fences in this location are illegal it may not be re-erected on your neighbor's side of the
line.
This condition must be corrected before a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued for
your new residence. Thank you for your help in getting this resolved. If you have any questions
