As per our conversation this letter is to request our being able to keep our dock in
the water at our house located at 3619 North Shore Drive, Orono this spring while
the house is being buift. As discussed, we are going to be finishing the demo on
May 1 5 and footings by Friday of that week. The foundation should be started on
the 22nd and starting the framing by the 29th. Framing would be done by the 15ih
of�une at the latest. It does not make economic sense to remove the dock for the
3 weeks and then to have it re-installed. We are moving forward with the
construction, so there is no doubt that there is going to be a structure. My kids will
be gone for most of this summer and were looking forward to utilizing the lake
after school is out and before they go to camp.
I did not know of any ordinances which would not permit me to have the dock
installed; or I ��o�!!.d h�;» u�;��� u•y ��, �,�;� �� �;;;� ��;�nt, since we are moving
forward, I would request that we be allowed to keep it in. I may add that if we do
not have the framing started by the 5th of)une, 2006 we will remove the dock until
after the framing inspection.

Dear Mr. &Mrs. Baron:
Staff has reviewed your request to allow the dock to be kept in place while the house is
being built,has been denied. The main reason for denial is that you signed a zoning
disclosure & declaration dated October 11, 2005 agreeing to removal of a11 accessory
structures, including docks, until the framing stage. I have included a copy of that signed
document.
The City is willing, however,to allow the time frame you laid out in the request letter. I
will expect to see footings and foundation by the end of the week of May 15 and framing
started no later than June 5, 2006. If the framing has not been started by the 5�'of June, I
will expect the dock to be removed from the water by June 9, 2006.
