Email: I am writing in response to your letter dated January 28, 2004 In your letter you expressed that
admin�minnehahacreek.org your have concerns regarding flooding occurring at 3262 and 3268 North Shore Drive, Orono,
Hennepin County, t�linnesota as a result of the construction of a sm e am�y ome at 3280 and
Web Site: 3290 Northshore Drive, Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota. In order to meet Minnehaha Creek
www.minnehahacreek.org Watershed District(MCWD)rule requirements the applicant was required to obtain a Rule B,
erosion control permit.
On June 16, 1999 an erosion control permit was issued for the construction of a single family home
at 3262 and 3268 North Shore Drive, Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota. This required the
applicant to implement the erosion control plan as approved by the MCWD Board of Managers on
December 22, 1998. The erosion control plan required Mr. Robert Wade to install silt fence along
Board of Managers the lakeshore and the northern and southern property boundaries. Once the soils on the property
Pamela elixt were properly stabilized with vegetation the MCWD permit requirements will have been met.
James Calkins The erosion control plan does require the submittal of a survey that shows contours sufficient to
Lance Fisher show drainage on and adjacent to the site in order to determine if the erosion control plan
submitted for the project is adequate. The erosion control plan shall conform to the provisions of
Susan Goetz the manual, "Protecting Water Quality in Urban Areas or to the provisions of the manual"Erosion
Monica Gross and Sediment Control Manual"(MCWD Rules B). The MCWD permit does not however approve
the grades associated with the submitted site survey.
