Johnson [peterj@peterwjohnson.com] Sent: Tuesday, July 01, 2014 1:40 PM To: Melanie Curtis Subject: Mandel improvements; Attachments: Appurtenant Drainage Easement over Mandel Property 12-22-06.pdf Ms. Curtis, Morrie has asked the Mandels to make sure they comply with Orono's codes in making any improvements to their property. The only information we know is that they are creating a "water feature". Their contractor has advised that no permits are required for what they plan. Mandels and their predecessors have created encroachments in the past and then claimed ownership based on adverse possession. Consequently, we want to make sure that all improvements are entirely on the Mandel parcel. As of yesterday, it looked like the improvement was being placed about four feet from the property boundary. But today, they have started over and have apparently now moved the improvement to about a foot from where we believe the boundary is located. Morrie has asked Mark Gronberg to mark the boundary line. (l P As we discussed, the shed was removed, large boulders have been moved onto the property, and heavy equipment is placing the boulders along the property boundary. /y1,` , .f. 5„C In addition to the possible code compliance issues, the property at 3165 NSD benefits from a drainage easement that covers the area where Mandels are working.
