Subject: SAC Charge for 340 Leaf Street S 1 ��, �; � � � L � -
Dear Mr. Terry:
The subject property is required to connect to the sanitary sewer in Leaf Street. This connection will
require a City of Orono sewer connection permit of a $35.50 fee and payment of a Sewer
Availability Charge (SAC) of$1,000 the 1998 rate. This charge increases $50.00 per year, so the
1999 charge would be $1,050. This SAC fee is paid to the City of Orono. The City then remits this
fee to the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) organization. This fee is payment i
for sewer capacity that is built in the MCES sewer system to serve new sewer connections. The
property owner is also responsible to hire a licensed plumber to make the connection from the
property line to the house.
