3. AWARD OF BID. EXECUTION OF CONTRACT•
� A. THE SUBURBAN HENNEPIN REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WILL MEET ON OCTOBER 8, 1992 TO CONSIDER THE BIDS. ACCEPTANCE OF A

6. CONTRACTOR'S PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND• �
A. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROMPTLY FURNISH A PERFORMANCE BOND AND LABOR AND '
MATERIAL PAYMENT BOND IN THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT PRICE IN A FORM
AND WITH SURETIES APPROVED BY THE OWNER. THE BOND SHALL GUARANTEE TO
KEEP ALL WORK CONSTRUCTED UNDER THIS CONTRACT FREE FROM DEFECTS IN
MATERIALS OR I�RKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM AND AFTER ITS �
COMPLETION BY THE CONTRACTOR AND ITS ACCEPTANCE BY THE OWNER. FOR
CONTRACTS IN AN AhIOIINT LESS THAN s15,000, IN LIEU OF THE BOND, THE
SUCCESSFUL BIDDER MAY PROVIDE AN IRREVOCABLE LETTER OF CREDIT IN THE SAME �

7. INFORMATION CONCERNING THE WORK AND THE SITE• �
A. EACH BIDDER SHALL CAREFULLY EXAMINE THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
FULLY INFORM HIMSELF OF THE NATURE, LOCATION, AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH �
THE WORK IS TO BE PERFORMED OR MATERIALS DELIVERED, AND IF AWARDED A
CONTRACT, SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED EXTRA COMPENSATION BECAUSE OF FAILURE TO
HAVE SO INFORMED HIMSELF. BIDDERS SHALL NOT RELY UPON STATEMENTS OR �
REPRESENTATIONS OF OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES OF THE OWNER WITH REFERENCE TO
THE SITE OR THE CONDITIONS OF THE WORK.
B. THE BIDDER IS INVITED TO VISIT AND INSPECT THE SITE WITH THE PARK RESERVE t
DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO THE BID OPENING.
8. BID SECURITY: �
A. EACH BIDDER MUST SUBMIT BID SECURITY IN THE FORM OF CASH, CERTIFIED CHECK
OR BID BOND PAYABLE TO THE SUBURBAN HENNEPIN REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT IN AN �
At�1NT NOT LESS THAN FIVE PERCENT (5X> OF THE TOTAL BASE BID SUBMITTED.
B. THE BID SECURITY SHALL BE FORFEITED IF THE BIDDER FAILS OR REFUSES TO
ENTER INTO CONTRACT AND FURNISH BOND WITHIN TEN CALENDAR DAYS AFTER HIS ,
PROPOSAL SHALL HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED. THIS CLAUSE IN NO WAY SHALL LIMIT THE
OWNERS REMEDIES IN LAW OR IN EQUITY.
C. THE BID SECURITY OF UNSUCCESSFUL BIDDERS WILL BE RETURNED WITHIN 15 DAYS �

9. LAYING OUT THE WORK:
A. ALL CONSTRUCTION STAKING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR. THE �
CONTRACTOR MUST SUPPLY HIS OWN SURVEYING SERVICES TO ACCOMPLISH THE
REQUIRED WORK. OWNER WILL ONLY SUPPLY HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CONTROL �
MONUMENTATION AS INDICATED IN THE PLANS. CONTROL MONUMENTATION DESTROYED
BY THE CONTRACTOR'S NEGLECT WILL BE REPLACED AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.

I10. PROSECUTION OF THE WORK:
, A. IMMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION AND EARLY COMPLETION OF THE WORK IS ESSENTIAL AND
WILL BE A FACTOR IN CONSIDERING AWARD OF THE CONTRACT. IT IS THE INTENT
OF THE OWNER THAT THE WORK SHOUID BEGIN ON OR ABOUT OCTOBER 19, 1992 AND

13. PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETI G:
� SUBSEQUENT TO THE AWARD OF THE CONTRACT FOR WORK OR NOTICE TO PROCEED, A
PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE PROJECT SITE. THE PURPOSE OF THE
MEETING SHALL BE TO REVIEW ALL ITEMS WHICH WILL AFFECT THE PROPER EXECUTION AND
� EXPEDITING OF THE WORK. THE MEETINGS SHALL BE ATTENDED BY QUALIFIED SPOKESMEN
REPRESENTING THE CONTRACTOR AND THE OWNER.
� 14. ADDENDA
APIY ADDENDA ISSUED DURING THE TIME OF BIDDING SHALL BE COVERED IN THE BID
PROPOSAL AND, IN CLOSING A CONTRACT, THEY WILL BECOME A PART THEREOF. LIST ON
� THE PROPOSAL FORM ALL ADDENDA RECEIVED. FAILURE OF A BIDDER TO RECEIVE ANY
ADDENDUM SHALL NOT RELEASE THE BIDDER FROM ANY OBLIGATIONS COVERED BY THE
CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, PROVIDED SAID ADDENDUM WAS SENT BY U. S. MAIL TO THE

THE MINIMUM WAGE RATE PER HOUR TO BE PAID FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION OF WORK �
SHALL BE THE LOCAL PREVAILING RATE, INCLUDING FRINGE BENEFITS AS DEFINED IN
MINNESOTA STATUTE 177.42.
16. HENNEPIN PARKS GENERAL INSTR�r_TrnN� FOR MONITORING PREVAILING WAGE STANDARDS: t
ALL MECHANICS AND LABORERS, INCLUDING APPRENTICES AND TRAINEES, EMPLOYED OR
WORKING DIRECTLY UPON THE SITE OF THE WORK SHALL BE PAID UNCONDITIONALLY AND ,
NOT LESS OFTEN THAN ONCE A WEEK, AND WITHOUT SUBSEQUENT DEDUCTION OR REBATE ON
ANY ACCOUNT, THE FULL AMOUNTS DUE AT TIME OF PAYMENT COMPUTED AT WAGE RATES
NOT LESS THAN THE AGGREGATE OF THE BASIC HOURLY RATES AND THE RATES OF �
PAYMENTS, CONTRIBUTIONS, OR COSTS FOR ANY FRINGE BENEFITS CONTAINED IN THE
WAGE DETERMINATION DECISION OF THE SECRETARY OF LABOR WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO

FAR RIGHT HAND COLUMN ON THESE LISTS. WE DO NOT CARE HOW WAGES ARE DIVIDED
BETWEEN BASIC RATE AND FRINGE BENEFIT RATE SO LONG AS THE TOTAL RATE IS ,

PAYROLL� AND BASIC RECORDS
A. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN PAYROLLS AND BASIC RECORDS RELATING THERETO i
DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK AND SHALL PRESERVE THEM FOR A PERIOD OF ONE
(1 ) YEAR THEREAFTER FOR ALL LABORERS AND MECHANICS, INCLUDING
APPRENTICES, TRAINEES, WATCHMEN, AND GUARDS, WORKING AT THE SITE OF THE �
WORK. SUCH RECORDS SHALL CONTAIN THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF EACH SUCH
EMPLOYEE, HIS CORRECT CLASSIFICATION, RATE OF PAY (INCLUDING RATES OF
CONTRIBUTIONS FOR, OR COSTS ASSUMED TO PROVIDE, FRINGE BENEFITS) , DAILY �
AND WEEKLY NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED, DEDUCTIONS MADE AND ACTUAL WAGES
PAID. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN DAILY TIME RECORDS
SHOWING THE HOURS WORKED BY ALL HOURLY EMPLOYEES. SUCH TIME SHEETS SHALL
BE SIGNED BY THE EMPLOYEE AND THE EMPLOYER AND SHALL BE PRESERVED BY THE �
EMPLOYER FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF THE WORK. SUCH
RECORDS SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE SUBURBAN HENNEPIN REGIONAL PARK
DISTRICT UPON REQUEST. �
B. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT WEEKLY COPIES OF ALL PAYROLLS TO THE OWNER'S
PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE WITH THEIR MONTHLY PAY REQUESTS. THE PRIME ,
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF COPIES OF PAYROLLS
OF ALL SUBCONTRACTORS. THE COPY SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY A STATEMENT
� SIGNED BY THE CONTRACTOR INDICATING THAT THE PAYROLLS ARE CORRECT AND
COMPLETE, THAT THE WAGE RATES CONTAINED THEREIN ARE NOT LESS THAN THOSE �
DETERMINED BY THE SECRETARY OF LABOR, AND THAT THE CLASSIFICATIONS SET
FORTH FOR EACH LABORER OR MECHANIC, INCLUDING APPRENTICES AND TRAINEES,
CONFORM WITH THE WORK HE PERFORMED. �

OTHER SUBMITTALS. THE ABOVE ITEMS SHALL BE AVAILABLE TO THE
' CONSULTANT AT HIS REASONABLE REQUEST, AND TWO SETS OF RED LINED
AS-BUILT BLUEPRINTS WITH 2 COPIES OF ALL PROJECT DOCUMENTS IN A
3-RING BINDER SHALL BE DELIVERED TO THE PARK DISTRICT AT THE
CONCLUSION OF THE WORK.

, 1 . WITHOUT INVALIDATING THE CONTRACT, THE PARK DISTRICT MAY ORDER
CHANGES IN THE WORK WITHIN THE GENERAL SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT,
CONSISTING OF ADDITIONS, DELETIONS OR OTHER REVISIONS. WITH THE
CONTRACT SUM AND/OR SCHEDULE BEING ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY, IF
' NECESSARY. ALL SUCH CHANGES IN THE WORK MUST BE AUTHORIZED BY
A CHANGE ORDER PRIOR TO COMMENCING THE WORK AND MUST BE
PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. A CHANGE
' ORDER SIGNED BY THE CONTRACTOR EVIDENCES HIS AGREEMENT WITH A
CHANGE ORDER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED T0, ANY ADJUSTMENT IN

THEREAFTER, THE CONSULTANT SHALL DETERMINE THE COST OF THE

OPERATION OF THE PARK DISTRICT AT TNE SITE, OR THE WORK OF ANY
OTHER CONTRACTOR EMPLOYED BY THE PARK DISTRICT. ,

1 . THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, PURSUANT TO PARK DISTRICT PROJECT PLANS, `

ACCUMULATION OF WASTE MATERIAL OR RUBBISH AND ANY DEMOLITION
DEBRIS CAUSED BY HIS/HER OPERATIONS. ALL MATERIALS AND DEBRIS '
SHALL BE REtAOVED FROM PARK DISTRICT PROPERTY AND DISPOSED OF AT
AN OFF-SITE "CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS" LAND FILL OR THROUGH OTHER
APPROVED DISPOSAL CHANNELS AS SPECIFIED BY STATE AND FEDERAL ,
LAW.
2. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND PRIOR TO RELEASE OF PROJECT ,
FINAL PAYMENT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL WASTE MATERIALS,
RUBBISH AND DEBRIS FROM AND ABOVE THE PROJECT, INCLUDING TOOLS,
CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY AND SURPLUS MATERIALS. AT NO
TIME WILL ANY CONSTRUCTION OR RECONSTRUCTION DEBRIS/MATERIALS '
BE BURIED OR IN ANY OTHER MANNER REMAIN WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES
OF ANY HENNEPIN PARKS PROPERTY.
3. IF THE CONTRACTOR FAILS TO CLEAN UP AT THE COMPLETION OF THE ,

CHARGED TO THE CONTRACTOR AND DEDUCTED FROM THE FINAL PAYMENT.

POLICY IS VIOLATED, HENNEPIN PARKS' ORDINANCE AND/OR FEDERAL
AND STATE CRIMINAL LAWS WILL BE ENFORCED.
VII. MATERIALS �
A. WARRANL�C ,
THE CONTRACTOR WARRANTS TO THE PARK DISTRICT THAT MATERIALS AND
EQUIPMENT FURNISHED UNDER THE CONTRACT WILL BE MERCNANTABLE AND
NEW, THAT THE WORK WILL BE FREE FROM DEFECTS, AND THAT THE WORK '
WILL CONFORM WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF .THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, AND WORK NOT CONFORMING TO THIS WARRANTY
SHALL BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE. THIS WARRANTY EXCLUDES DAMAGES '
CAUSED BY ABUSE, IMPROPER OR INSUFFICIENT MAINTENANCE, OR NORMAL
WEAR AND TEAR UNDER NORMAL USAGE.

CORRECT IT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR. THE PARK DISTRICT
, MAY DEDUCT THIS EXPENSE FROM ANY MONIES DUE UNDER THE CONTRACT
OR, IF THE COST OF CORRECTING THE DEFECTS EXCEEDS THE AMOUNT
DUE TO THE CONTRACTOR UNDER THE CONTRACT, MAY BRING SUIT

VIII. PROJECT SCHEDULE AND PAYMENTS
' A. DELAYS AND EXTENSIONS OF TIME
' 1 . IN THE EVENT THAT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE DELAYED OR HINDERED
IN OR PREVENTED FROM PERFORMANCE OF ANY ACT REQUIRED BY THE
CONTRACT BY REASON OF UNAVOIDABLE LABOR DISPUTE, UNAVOIDABLE
' INABILITY TO PROCURE MATERIALS, FAILURE OF POWER, RIOTS,
INSURRECTIONS, WAR, FIRE, ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITION NOT
REASONABLY ANTICIPATIBLE, OTHER UNAVOIDABLE CASUALTIES OR OTHER
REASONS OF A LIKE NATURE NOT THE FAULT OF THE CONTRACTOR. THEN
' PERFORMANCE OF SUCH ACTS SHALL BE EXCUSED FOR THE PERIOD OF THE
DELAY AND THE PERIOD FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF ANY SUCH ACTS SHALL
BE EXTENDED FOR AN EQUIVALENT PERIOD BY A CHANGE ORDER TO THE
' CONTRACT. IF THE PARK DISTRICT, THE CONSULTANT, OR ANY
SEPARATE CONTRACTOR EMPLOYED BY THE PARK DISTRICT DELAYS THE
CONTRACTOR. THIS SHALL BE CONSIDERED AN EVENT OF DELAY.
HOWEVER, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CONTRACTOR BE ENTITLED TO ANY
' COMPENSATION FOR ANY DELAY.
2. THE CONTRACTOR'S CLAIMS, IF ANY. FOR EXTENSION OF TIME MUST BE
' MADE IN WRITING TO THE PARK DISTRICT .NOT MORE THAN FIVE WORKING
DAYS AFTER THE CONTRACTOR HAS NOTICE OF THE DELAY. THEREAFTER,
THE CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE FULL DETAILS AND SUPPORTIN6
' DOCUMENTATION WITH REGARD TO TNE CAUSE OF THE DELAY WITHIN
FIFTEEN WORKING DAYS OF THE INITIAL NOTICE OF THE DELAY TO THE

DOCUMENTATION ARE NOT FILED WITH THE PARK DISTRICT IN WRITING
' WITHIN THE TIME PERIOD SPECIFIED, THE CLAIM FOR DELAY SHALL BE
WAIVED. .
' B. SUSPENSION OF WORK
THE PARK DISTRICT MAY ORDER THE CONTRACTOR. IN WRITING, TO SUSPEND
' ALL OR ANY PART OF THE WORK FOR SUCH PERIOD OF TIME AS THE PARK
DISTRICT MAY DETERMINE TO BE APPROPRIATE FOR ITS CONVENIENCE. IF
ANY PART OF THE WORK IS SUSPENDED, THE CONTRACTOR'S SCHEDULE FOR
COMPLETION OF THE WORK SHALL BE ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY.

1 . THE PARK DISTRICT MAY, BY WRITTEN NOTICE TO THE CONTRACTOR, '

CONVENIENCE OR BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE CONTRACTOR TO '
FULFILL ITS CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS. UPON RECEIPT OF SUCH
NOTICE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE ALL
SERVICES AFFECTED AND SHALL DELIVER TO THE PARK DISTRICT ALL
DOCUMENTS, SAMPLES. AND SUBMITTALS. '
2. IF THE TERMINATION IS FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE PARK DISTRICT,
AN EQUITABLE ADJUSTMENT IN THE COMPENSATION OF THE CONTRACTOR ,
SHALI BE MADE, BUT NO AMOUNT SHALL BE ALLOWED FOR ANTICIPATED
PROFIT, UNPERFORMED SERVICES OR INTANGIBLES.
3. IF THE TERMINATION IS DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE CONTRACTOR TO �
FULFILL ITS CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS, THE PARK DISTRICT MAY TAKE
OVER THE I�RK AND PROSECUTE THE SAME TO COMPLETION BY CONTRACT

D. PARTIAL PAYMENTS '

SHALL BE RETAINED UNTIL COMPLETION AND FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE ,

AFTER SUCH NOTICE OF READINESS TO MAKE THE REQUIRED

� 12 CONSTRUCTION LIlVIITS
The work necessary on this proje�t is located on park propefty. It�s essenaal that the Contractor
' confine all of his activities to conswcaon limits ro be staked in the field by the Owner's
Representative. Access to the conswction site shall be only at the location designated by the
Owner's Representative.
, 1.3 MATERIAL STORAGE AND CONTRAC"POR PARKING
, The Conttactor shall confine his use of the site for storage of materials,site�ccess,and parking

submission of such data unless req�rired in writing by the Contractor. Failore of the Contractor
to submit required data which results in nullification of a wamanty, shall constitute assumption '
by the Conuractor of warranty provisions which would have pertained if data had been properly
submiued.
Guarant�ees of bonds roquired by various portions of the Specifications shall be submitted w the �
to the Owner. These shall include all guarant�ees,bonds and materials which extend beyond the

� 2.1 SCOPE OF W�RK
The work covered by this section of these Specifications includes,but is not limited to�fumishing

completion of the w�c and performing all wak that must be completed and for which payment

2.2.1 Proiect Contacts
1 Within 5 days following Nodce to Proceed, the Contractor shall submit to the
Ovme�s Representadve a list of the driller(s) and assistant(s) names who are to
' complete the project, including telephone numbers for 24 hour response should
problems arise.

' The Contracta shall main�in logs of all relevant drilling and sampling data.
Information contained in the Contracto�s logs shall include, but not be limited to:

2. Type of equipment used,

' 4. Final depth of hole,
S. Sample number,sampling depths.descriptions and classifications,
6. Water levels,
1 7. Drilling conditions encountered.

� Upon completion of the well,the Contractor shall furnish a copy of the field log to
the Engineer. 'I1�e Contractor shall also furnish a leuer report w the Engineer
' describing the work completed. Final payment will not be made to the Contract�
until the Enginee,r is furnished with field log and the Contracco�s report.

2.2.3 Dail R �
The Conuactor shall kcep a continuous recad of the nature of the material '
encounterad and shall make and keep available at the job site, a daily report
describing the work done during each day,including the items of work accomplishe� �
such as the depth drilled,the casing set,the number of cement grout bags furnished
and installod, the water �vel in rhe well at the beginning of each shift, and other
peRinent data as requested by the Engineer. Upon compledon of the well, the �
Contractor shall fuinish a oopy of the daily reports to the Engineer.
2.3 WORKMANSHIP '
2.3.1 Site Securitv
The conswctia► area shall be fenced from the start to the completion of tl�work. '
The Contracta shall be solely responsible for the secority of the Cont�cto�s
equipment and materials while they are on the site or in transit,including providing �
any ins�uance against theft, damage or vandalism that the Contractor deems
appropriate. Security measures deemed necessary by the Contractor shall be provided
at the Contracto�s expense and no additional compensation shall be provided. �
2.3.2 Clean Uu and Resta�ation
At the can letion of the work relat�ed to well construction develo ent and test '

conswcdon equipment and machinery as well as all waste materials, rubbish and
debris from and about the premises. 'Il�e Contractor will be responsible for removing

Contractor will be responsible fa restoration of the access and site by placing topsoil.

2.4 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT ,
The Conaactor will be paid for mobilization an the basis of a lump sum price. Contracwr shall ,
submit a detailed cost summary of all items included in the bid item for Mobilization. The
Conuractor shall submit records of payment of applicable items in the Request for Payment,such
as bond and insinance costs.equipment mobilization,reswration,and shall fully justify any other �
cost item. This summary will be used for deteamination of Progzess Payments and will be subject
to approval by Owner. Any portioa of the mobilization item not fully verified will not be paid
undl the 5nal payment of the projxt. �

' WF.LL CONSTRUCTION AND PUMP INSTALLATION
, 3.1 SCOP�OF WORK
The scope of work cov�+ed by this secdon of these Specifications include furnishing all labor,equipment,
� and materials and performing all operations nxessary to construct a producdon well at Ncerenberg
Memorial County Parlc. All work and macerials shall meet the requirements of the Minnesota Water
Well Constr�tion Code as a minimum. The worlc includes, but is not limited to, drilling the well,
� installing the well casing and scran, developing the well to produce the desired discharge capacity,
drawdovm and sand content requirement specified,Performu►8 Pumping tests,and installing the pump,
drop pipe and well head surface plate and all other work specified.
� 3.1.1 Well Locadon
� The general location of the project is given in the scope of work in Division 1. The site location
is shown on Sheet 1 of the Drawings. The well location will be staked by the Owne,r's
� Representative. The Cona�actar shall not move the location without approval of the Owner.
3.1.2 Well Descriution
' The well will be completed in the drift to an estimated depth of 145 feet A 6-inch diameter
casing will extend from 1-foot above the surface to an appmximate depth of 135 feet. A 10-foot
' telescoping scrcen will ezcend from the bottom of the casing to the bottom of the well.
Depths may vary,depending on local geologic condidons. It is the intent of these specifications
� that the well installed at Ncerenberg Park Memorial County Park produce 40 gpm of sand firee
watcr.
� 3.1.3 Anticinated Subsurface C�diaons
The screen depth of the well is based on coarse sand and gravel stated in records of two adjacent
� residential water supply wells. Oveslying the coarse sand and gravel are various clay,sand,and
gravel m'vcda+es extending to the ground surface.The waux table is estimated to be 35 to 45 feet
, below the ground surface.
3.2 MATERIAI.S
� 3.2.1 Casina
� The casing shall be new 6-inch steel pipe conforming to the latest requirements of the American
Society for Testu►g Materials(AS'Ti�Designation A-53 for Type E(electric resistance welded)
Grade B or higher. At the Contracto�s option equivalent pipe conforming to the latest
� requirements of the American Petroleum Instiwte(APn Designation SL may be used. All pipe
used in any given casing shall be of the same maeerial specification. New steel pipe shall meet

the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health Water Well Construcdon Code. The 1
ContracWr shall furnish to the Owner a certified mill cest reports stadng that the pipe has been
manufacaired,sampled,tested and inspectefl in accordance with ASTM A-53 or API-SL. Each ,
length of pipe shall be legibly marke�with the name of the manufacturer. type of pipe, grade,
specification number and heat number.
Casing pipe shall be joinod with welded joints made and inspected in accordance with the latest ,
requiremcnts of the American Wata Wacks Associatiai(AWWA) Standard for Field Welding
of Stoel Water Pipe, AWWA C206. �
3.2.2 Well Screea

fia�ed with a flat plate. The well saeen and its fiuings shall be fabricated entirely of Type 304 �
stainless sceel welded as specified by the manufacturer.
3.2.3 Cente�inA Guides �
The centering guides shall be of the same material as the well screen and casing they attached

3.2.4 Drillin�Fluid

3.2.5 Bentonite t
Bentonite shall be finely ground.premium grade,high yield sodiam bentonite equal to Quik-Gel �
manufact�u�ad by NL Baroid Industries,Inc. of HousWn,Texas. The bentonite shall be free of
lumps and objectionable material that would prevent easy mixing into a smooth fluid,free from

3.2.6 Portland Cement
Portland cement(Type 1) shall meet the requirements of ASTM G150. �

3.2.7 Neat Cement Grout
' The neat cement grout shall consist of a mixture of 1 bag(94 pounds)Portland Cement(Type 1)
to not more than 6 gallons of potable wat�r. Bentonite up to 2 percent by weight of cement may
� be added. No other admixtures will be allowed.
3.2.8 Test Pumn and Accessorv Eauinment

gpm against a total head of approaimately 60 fcet for use in the new well. The discharge rate
, sLa11 be controllable over a range from ZO w 100 gpm. 'I7ie Contracta shall aiso provide
metaing eq�ipment suitable fa eccurate measuring of discharge rates throughout the specified
range. Pumping,thrott]ing and metering equipment shall be capable of maintaining a steady rate
� of�low,not varying more than 5 percent from average. 'Il�e pumping unit shall be capable of
being operated continuously at maaimum capacity or lesser rat�s for a paiod of at least 8 hours.
� The test pumping system shall be equipped to pennit measurement of drawdown. The proposed
method of drawdovm measurement shall be approved by the Engineer.
, 3.2.9 Submersible Pumn
1 The submersible pump shall be a Gn�nfos 40S20-7 or ap�oved equat set at approximately 70 feet
below grade. 'Itie pump bowls, impellers. guide vanes, and filter screen shall be Type 304
stairiless sceel. Each impella shall have a teflon seal ring around its eye or skirt to reduce
' hydraulic losses. There shall be teflon shaft bearing located either above a below each impeller.
Inlet assembly shall be equipped with a Type 304 stainless steel filter screen. Pump shall include
a stauiless steel nameplate with the pump model stamped into it It shall be affixed to the pump.
� 3.2.10 Submersible Motor
' Pump motas shall be squirrel-cage induction designed for submersible operadon in conformance
with NEMA Standards. All materials in contact with the pumped fluid shall be constructed of
Type 304 or 316 s�inless steel or Viton. The motor shall not use any oils or greases for bearing
� lubricarion. A fleuble Viton diaphragm shall be provided to permit expansion and conuaction
of the intemal motor lubricating and cooling fluid The motor shaft seal shall be conswcted or
� Viton. A sand slinger constructed of Viton shall be included. The pump motor shail be as
manufacwred by Franklin or approved equal and operate with 230 volt, single phase elecuic
service.
� 3.2.11 Droo Ave
� The dtvp pipe shall meet ANSJ/AWWA E101-88 Standards(Sec.B-4.5). The drop pipe diameter
shall be 2-inches. The first section below the well t�ad and the last secaon above the pump may
be sharter sections. The top of the drop pipe assembly shall be properly adapted to connect to
� the sarface plate.

32.12 Submersted Check Valve
If a check valve is not incorporated into the submersible pump,the submerged check valve shall �
, be a Lakewood surge valve as manufactured by L.akewood Pipe (Belltlower, CA) or approved
equal. The submerged checic valve shall be of seamless steel consavction and shall be of the �
double disk type with a single ceatxc hinge pin. The valve shall be designed to permit the watex
column to slowly bleed back following pump shutdown. The valve shall be threaded coupling
style lucated at least 6 feet below the ground surface. �
32.13 Pawer Cable
The Connactor shall fumish er cable in sufficient le to reach from the motor te�minal '

connection t�the connecdon box at the top of the well without splicing. The cable shall be sized
for at least 125 perc:ent of motor full laad capacity. The cable shall comply with all applicable `
sxtions of the Nadonal Electric Code. The cable shall have conducta�s of not less than seven
('n strands,each conduct�r W be in an insulated water dght jacket,which in turn is enclosed in �
an outer synthetic rubber or plastic jacket that is impervious to oil.
3.2.14 Surface Plate �
The surface plate(pump base)shall be rigid enough to support the entire weight of the suspended
parts when filled with water. The plate shall provide suitable openings for the powe,r cable,well �
vent,and water-level indicat�. The plate shall provide a suppat for the power cable as required
by the electrical code. The plate shall also support the discharge connecdon furnished in a size
adequate for the mquired flow rate and in a pressure sexies consistent with tt�e surface pressure ,
to be delivered by the pump. The discharge line shall be conswcted with the valves and piping
as shown in the Contract Drawings.
3.2.15 Concrete Slab and Boz Cover �
A 2.S-foot by 4-foot by 4-inch thick slab of concrete will be required around the well. The '
material components �the concrete shall conform to the requirements as set forth in Secdon
2461 of the MnDOT Specifications. Tempe,rawre and shrinkage reinfa+cement shall confoan to �
the laoest ASTM Designation A-615.A-616,or A-617, Grade 60. The bars shall be cold bent
m a�ycordance with ACI Standards.
A 28•i�h high by 40-inch long by 18-inch wide box cover will be required for the well. The �
box shall consist of 1/4-inch welded steel plate,painced and primed,and then fastened to the slab
with faa 1R-inch diameter Hilti Kwik bolts,one in each corne,r. Paint type and color shall be �
selecUed by the Ovvner.
3.3 WORKMANSHIP �
The workmanship for the well consttuction shall meet the r�uirements of the Minnesota Water Well
Construction Code as a minimiun. �

3.3.1 Pilot Hole and Samolina
tThe Contrsctor shall advance a 6-inch nominal diameter pilot hole to an estimated depth of 145
feet. During advancement of the pilot hole, 1-pound samples of the formation shall be collected
� eve,r�+ 10 feet and at signif'icant changes in the foanadon as indicated by changes in drilling
characteristics or cutdngs. Samples shall be put in standard sediment sample bags and delivered
to the Engineer.
� Of primary importance is to identify the extent and characteristics of the coarse sand and gravel
layar f�scroen placement Tlu Connactor shall prepare a log of the pilot hole that idendfies
� the extent of the coarse sand and gravel layer, and other significant layeis in the drift aquifer.
The log shall be submiued as soon as poss�ble to the Engineer, The Contractor shall also submit
the samples in the area to be sc�ened to the well scraen manufacwrer for analysis and screen
� siu recommendation. The analysis results and recommendations shall be submiued W the
Engineer fa approval.
� 3.3.2 WellInstallation
� The Contractor shall ream the pilot hole to a minim�un of 10.6 inches diameter borehole using
drilling fluid composed of potable wai�ea with the minimum bentonite necessary to stabilize the
borehole.
iThe Conuactor shall assemble and center the 6-inch nominal diameter casing within the borehole
using centering guides with a minimum spacing of 40 feet The casing shall extend from at least
� 1-feet above g�rade to the bottom of the borehole. All welding shall be in accordance with
AWWA C206.
' Immediat�ely aft,a installation of the 6-inch casing,the Contractor shall flush the bentonite firom
the borehole by pumping potable wat�er tlu�ough the base of the casing up the annular space. The
screen assembly shall be centered with centering guides at the bottom of the well within the 6-
, inch casing. 'I�►e casing shall then be pulled back to expose the full length of the screen.
The annular space between d�e casing and the bamehole shall be sealed as required by Section
� 4725.3400, 4725.3800� and 4725.4100 of the Minnesota Water Well Construction Code. Any
uncollapsod annular space shall be grouted with neat cement using a tremie pipe to p�mp the
� grout under pressure from the bottom up in orn continuo�s operation. The Contractar shall insure
that no grout reached the screened poriion of the borehole. The Contractor shall verify that the
borehole has collapsed to kast 10 fcet above the screen or add an appropriate filter material tp
' insore the aanular space is filled to this level.
3.3.3 Temvorarv Caooina '

3.3.4 Testina for Pltunbness and Alianment `
Upon completion of the well construction,the Contractar shall demonstrate to the Ovmer that the �
well is straight and vertical. The test shall be made in accordance with the methods established
in current odition AWWA A100, Section 8. and Appendix C of the American Water Works
Association Standard for Water Wells and witnessed by the Ovme,�s Representadve. �
Should the well fail d�e plumbness or alignment requirements stated above,the Contractor shall
comect such fault�or drill a new well and abandon the unsuccessful well at the Conuacto�s own �
ezpense. No payment will be made fa well conswcdon, well develo�m►ent and grouting for
wells not meeting the alignment and plumbness requirements.

well. The Conhractor may make alignment tests at the Contractor's own expense at any time �

alignment tests at any time during construction of the well. If the well passes the alignment test
the Owna will be responsible for the cost of the test. If the well fails an alignment test, the �
Contractor shall bear all costs of all further alignment tests W vaify the adeqoacy of correcave
work or the alignment tests of a new well drilled by the Contractor.
3.3.5 Well Develo�ment ,
The well shall be developefl to remove fines, stabilize the aquifer around the borehole, and �
maximize tlu specific capacity of the well. Development shall be horizontal jetting and
simnl�neous air-lift pumping(reference.F.G.Drisc;oll,Groundwater and Wells. 1986,pg.520).
The outside diameux tt�e jeaing tool shall be 1.0 inch in diameter less than the inside diameter �
of the scrxn. 'Ihe minimum exit velocity of the jet�ing fluid at the nozzle will be d�pendent on
the drilling condidons encountered will be set by the Enginea; the Contractoc shall have
equipment with d�e capability of 150 feet per second 'Il►e jetting procedure shall proce�d from ,
the bouom of the screen t�the tap. The jeuing tool shall be placed at one horizontal position,
rotated at approximately one round per minute for at least one minute�and then raised to the nezt
horizontal posioi�on which shall be no more than 6 inches above the preceding jeuing position. �
During jetdng the well shall be pumped at a rat�e from 10 to 20 percent more than the volume
of water introduced through the jetting t�ooL 'It�e boaom of the air line shall maintained just ,
above die jeuing t�ool.
Development shall proceed until the well yields a sustained discharge of 40 gpm with a sand �
content of 1 part per million or less. When the Conuactnr feels the discharge is acceptable,the
Contractor shall notify the Engineer and shall perform a sand content test in the presence of the
Engineer or Enginee�'s Representadve. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer at least 24 hours ,
in advance of when the sand content test will be perforn►ed.

measure�with a circular orifice meter or other method approved by the Engineer. Sand content
measurements shall be taken at 15 minute int�rvaLs a as dire�ted by the Engineer. The discharge
� will be considered acceptable if the aveaage sand concentration measured in the five samples is
less than 1 part per million and the consecudve samples have shown a trend toward decreasing
or stable sand content valnes.
� Sand content samples shall be collecte� ss described in Appendix D of the AWWA A100
Standard for Water Wells using a centrUugal sand sampler located on a tap at the discharge
� pipe centzrline. At kast SO gallons of water shall be collected using this method. The
centrifugal sand sampler shall be provided by the Conttactor along with a drum or other vessel
for measuring the discharge volume. The centrifuge shall collect the sand in a removable tube
� for dirxt measurements of sand volume.
3.3.6 Test Pumoinrt
� Upon completion of well development,the Contractor shall clean out the well w the bottom of
� the screen and install tempotary pamping equipment, throtding valves and suitable measuring
devices approved by the Engincer,capable of producing and measuring a flow of 100 gpm and
of sunultaneoosly measiuing the drawdown at the production well. Water pumped during test
' pumping shall be discharged at a location designated by the Owne�s Representative. The
Contractor shall assist the Engineer in placing insuumentation up to 1.0-inct�s in diameter in the
well to depths up to 100 fcet below static wat� level. The test shall be conducted at such
� vario�s rates of flow as the Engineer may direct, and the Contractor shall accurately measure
drawdown and discharge rates at such intervals as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor shall
also record sand content of the piunped water at stable drawdowns at each pumping rate. It is
� andcipaced that the test will be performed for an 8-ho�r pe.riod of continuous operation,but the
Enginoer reserves the right to lengthen or shorten this pe,riod as may be indicate�by the results.
If,at the completion of the test,the Enginea shall det�ecmine that the test is not sufficient,he may
' direct the C�tractor to remove the test pump and equipment and proceed further with
�velopment and again direct another test be made.
� 3.3.7 Well Abandonment
ff the well fails to confam to these spe�ifications and the Contiactor is unable to comect the
� condidon or negodate a mutually acceptable cost reducdon for specific deviadons, it shall be
considered an abandoned hole,and the Contractor shall immediately start a new well at a nearby
' location designated by the Owner.
The abandoned well shall be sealed in accordance'vaith the Minnesota Department of Health
� Water Well Construction Code.

3.3.8 Pum�Installation
The Contracta shall install the pump in the well at the elevation directed by the Engineer in ,
accordat►ce with recommendadons of the pump manufacturer. Prior to placement,the Contracta
shall assure p�+opa motor connection, impella adjustrnent, lubrication, and all other checks �
mquirred for pump and mota.
Pump installation includes fumishing and installing the PumP�a11 droP Pipe from the pump to the �
surface plat�e.the surface plate,electrical conduit and junction box,power cable from the pump
to S-feet above the snrface plate,and the discharge piping and related valves. The powe,r cable
sl�sll be attached to the drop pipe by an approved method at a minimum of 10-foot intervals. �
Adjusting the well casing height and welding a tlange at the top to match the sarface plate will
also be included in pump installadon. �
The drnp pipe shaU be assembled ro provide dght,leak hce joints. Tt�e submerged check valve, �
if not an integcal part of the pump,shall be installed on discharge side of pump.
3.3.9 Starw �
Following connecdon of the d.ischarge pipe and installation of electrical controls,the Cont�acta�
shall allow for time W be present during pump startup. The Contractor shall prnvide to the �
Owner all c�perating manuals and specificadons for the motor and pump,as specified previously
in these Specifications.
3.3.10 Disinfectian and Samolina �
Aft�all work on the well has been completed the Contractor shail disinfect and sample the well �
in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Department of Health Water Well
Construcaon Code, S 4725.6500 and 4725.6600.
3.3.11 Concrete Slab and Boa Cova '
The concrete slab shall be placod and po�ed araund the well casing as specified by the Engineer. �
Installadon of the slab shall be coordinated with the installation of the discharge line to the wat�
wwer. The discharge line will go through the slab (set other apprapriate secdons of these �
Specifications). 1/Z-inch biduninous felt shall be placed around the well casing and discharge
line W pamit movement during freezing and thawing. Temperature and shrinkage steel shall be
placed at 12-inches on-center in the middle of the slab. �
The 1/4-inch steel platsd box shall be anchored w the slab with Kwik bolts as specified.
3.4 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT I
Payment for all the materials,equipment,and labor necessary tn construct the well and otherwise satisfy �
the contract shall be made thcough the various bid items included in the proposal. Payment will be made

� 3.4.1 We1lInstallation .
3.4.1.1 Advance 6-Inch Nominal Diamete,r Pilot Hole and Sampling
, The 6-inch nominal diameter pilot hole will be measured in linear feet fiam the ground
surface to the maximum depth of the pilot hole. The Contractor will be paid at the linear
� foot price bid fa the 6-inch nominal diameter pilot hole. Said payment will consdwte
full compensation for the labor, oquipment and materials used for advancement of the
pilot hole and the required sampling.
� 3.4.1.2 Advance 10.6-Inch Minimum Diameter Borehole
� The 10.6-inch minimum diameter borehole will be measured in linear feet from the
ground surface to the maximum depth of the borehole. The Contractor will be paid at the
linear foot price bid for the borehole. Said payment will consdtute full compensation for
, labor,equipment and materials used for advancement of the 10.6-inch minimum diameter
borehole.
, 3.4.1.3 Furnish and Install 6-Inch Diameter Casing
' The Convacta will be paid at the per linear foot price bid for the length of 6-inch
diametex steel casing measured from one foot above the gronnd surface to the botcom of
the casing aRer installation of the screen. The extra casing as a result of the pull back
' shall be considesed incidental t� the work and the property of the Contractor aft�
compledon of d�e well. Said payment will constitute full compensation for the labor,
equipment and materials usefl for providing,assembling,and installation of the casing.
1 3.4.1.4 Fumish and Install 6-Inch Telescope Size Screer
, The Contracca will be paid at the per linear foot price bid fa the length of 6-inch
diameter telescope size well screen. Said payment will consdtute full compensation for
the labor,equipment and materials used for furnishing,assembling,and installing the well
� screen and associat�ed fiuings in the well. The costs related to obtaining a screen size
recommendation fran the manufacwrer as specified will be considered incidental to the
� work.

3.4.1.5 Fumish and Install Neat Cement Grout �
Neat cement grout will be measured by the bags of cement placed to the nearest bag. The ,

3.4.2 Plumbness and Ali�mment Tests �
The Contr�ctor will be paid for conducting one plumbness and alignment test made upon �
compledon of the well and other alignment tests as stated in these Specifications. Said payment
will constitute full compensadon for labor. equipment and materials used to conduct the
plumbness and alignment tests. �
3.4.3 Well Develooment
3.4.3.1 Furnish,Install and Remove Development Equipment �
The Convactor will be paid on a lump sum basis for fumishing,installing and removing �
the well development equipment, includ.ing apparatus necessary far the sand tesG Said
payment will constitute full compensation for labor. equipment and materials used to

3.4.3.2 Operate Development Equipment ,
Well developmeat will be meas�red in the hours that the water is pumped from each well
w the nearest 0.1 hour. The Conttacwr will be paid at the unit price for the number of ,
hours of developing. Said payment will consdtute full compec�sation for labor,equipment
and materials used o0 opecate the development equipment and perform the sand test�
3.4.4 Test Pmm�ina '
3.4.4.1 Furnish,Install, and Remove Test Pumping Equipment �
The Conuactar will be paid an a lump sum basis fa fumishing,installir►g,and removing
the test pumping equipment including a power soume for the pump and the necessary �
materials for the discharge line. Said payment will consdtute full compensation for labor,
equipment and mataials used to fumish.install and remove the test pumping equi}xnen�

3.4.4.2 Operate Test Pumping Equipment �
Test pumping will be measured in the hours that water is pumped from the well to the
nearest 0.1 hour. If the test pump pracedure is intenupted due to problems aaributed to �
the Convactor,such as equipment problems,Ca�tractor-supplied power-source failure,and

, 3.4.5 Well Abandonment(D�e to Geolo�ric Condiaons)
, Labor, oquipment and materiais for borehole abandonment will be considered incidental to the

, 4.1 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work covered by this section of these Specifications include furnishing all labor,equipment,
, and materials and performing all operations ne�essary to install a booster pump,pressure tank and related
valves and piping. The work ir�cludes,but is not limited to,furnishing and installing the booster pump,
pressure tank, valves and related piping,and all other work specified.
, 4.1.1 General Location
, The general location of the project is given in the scope of work in Division 1. The site locatian
is shown on Figure 1. 'I]�e booster pump and pressure tank will be located in the exisang
Maintenacxe Shop adjacent to the water tower on-site as located by the Owne�s Representative.
, The ne�essary valves and piping shall be inside the Maintenance Shop were possible as directed
by the Owne�'s Representative. The Contractor shall not move the location without approval of
the Owner.
, 4.2 MAT'ERIAI.S
' 4.2.1 Well Discharae Line
' The well discharge line shall be 2-inch schedule 40 galvanized pipe and fittings.
4.2.2 Ductile Iron Pive and FittinAs (DIP)
� D�ictile iron pipe with threaded flanges shall conform to all the requirements of ANSI A21.15.
Pi��e barrel shall meat all the requirements of ANSI A21.51. Pipe shall be Class 53.
, All bolts and gaskets necessary shall meet the requirements of ANSI A21.15. Bolts shall be
ca��bon steel conforming to the requirements of ASTM A307,Grade B,with hex heads and nuts
� sized acco�dingly. Gaskets shall be the ring type constructed of synthetic rubber material suitable
for use in pipes containing potable water.
� 4.2.3 Polvvir►vl Chlaride Pioe and FittinAs (PVC7
Smooth walled polyvinyl chloride pipe and fittings shall conform with the requirements of ASTM

4.2.6 Isolarion and Gate Valves �
Isolation valves for the 4•inch lines shaU be knife gate valves manually operated 4-inch diameter

lines shall be 2-inch bronu gate valves GV Series by Watts Regulator or approval equal.

The booster pump shsll be a centrifugal pumping �ni� constant speed, single stage, horizontal
end s�tion and be elecuic motor driven. The pumping unit shall be equipped with sleeve '
mounted, mechanical shaft seals. Casings shall be ca�swcted of cast iron, impeller and shaft
sleeves consavcted of eitha high g�ade steel or bronze. �

1 4.3 WORKMANSHIP
4.3.1 Well DischarQe Line and Related Valves
, The well discharge line shall begin at die surface plate, then tee to provide both an alternate
discharge line and supply discharge line as shown on Figure 1. The altemate discharge line shall
' be a stub line with a 2-ir�ch gate valve between the surface plate and the nipple end The supply
discharge line st�all include a 2-inch gate valve,followed by an air and vacuum valve,followed
by a check valve,and a 90 degree elbow to diract the discharge line below grade. A 1/2-inch
' hose bibb shatl be installed jast downstream of the check valve. All valves shall be enclosed in
the protective box as descn'bed in Division 3 of these Spacificadons.
I The discharge line shall proceod from the well to the waux tower riser pipe buried at least 24
inches below grade, slaping to the water tower to allow seasonal drainage. The discharge line
shall be connectod to the eusting riser pipe of the water tower.
, The Contractor shall locat�e the existing tower drain. If the drain pipe is in poor condidon as
, determined by the Engineer,the Contcactor shall replace the drain pipe at the unit prices stated

� 4.3.2 Booster Pnmv.Pressure Tank. Valves and Fittin¢s
The booster pump and pressure tank shall be located in the maintenance building as indicated by
, the Owner. Tl�e sucdon side of the booster pump shall be connected to the water tower riser pipe
by a 4-inch DIP buried at least 3-feet below grade sloping toward the maintenance building. The
boosta pump and pressure tank shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's

The PVC pipelines shall be installed without sags in the grade to allow complete drainage of the
pipe when required. A tee with a 1-inch W�e to grade shall be installed at the high point in the �
4-inch PVC line betwaen the maintenance bnilding and the garden will extend to the garden area.
A quick coupler will be installod by others at this locatian for air release and line drainage.
4.3.4 Mechanical Pive Connections '
Mechanical pipe connoctions will be made at the transidon from DIP w PVC and where new �
piping connects with the riser pipe of the existing water tower. All mechanical joints shall be
watertight and designed for minimum wo�cing pressure of 120 psi Joints shall be tightened and
secured in a�ccordance with the manufacwre�'s recommendations. �
4.3.5 Piveline Ro�d Crossina
The PVC ' lines shall be a ered under or installed in a i casing jacked under County Road ,

S1 (North Shore Drive). The Contracta shall be responsible for coordinadng this work with the �
County Public Works Department and following their requirements. The Contractor shall locate

4.3.6 Yressure Testina
All water lines shall be pressure test�ad with sir as directed by tt�e Engineer to verify that the lines t

staR-up as suthorized by the Engineer. After start-up, the manufacwrer shall make all final '
adjustments t�ecessary fa the inteaded use of the equipment and certify in writing that the
equipment has been properly installed and sdjusted and is operating sarisfactorily.

2.02 CONDUTfS�FITTINGS, BOXES AND DEVICES '
A The Contractar shall supply conduit,couplings,connectors,junctia�bozes,fittings and all other
required items for a complete raceway system. The conduit fills indicated in the caitr�ct '
documents are based on copper conductors with THWN insuladon suirable for 75 deg C
insulation in both wet and dry locadons. The Conuactor shall resize conduits for other condnctor
and�or insulation syst�ems,if approvod. The conduit shall be reamed and cleaned and made free �
of bun�s. Exposed conduit runs shall be straight and true with the building lines and elbows.
bends and offsets shall be uniform and symmetrical. All conduit runs shall be installed with

' 3.01 UNDERGROUND WORK
A. The Contractor shall be responsible for all excavating, concrete work where applicable, and

B. Backfill shall be earth or sand tamped inW place. 'It�e trench shall be filled to the top and the
