CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
15. ADOPTION OF 2018 PRELIMINARY BUDGET AND LEVY RESOLUTION NO.6793&
RESOLUTION NO.6794
Olson noted this item was discussed in depth at the September 11 City Council meeting where the
preliminary tax levy and preliminary general fund budget was proposed. Olson noted after tonight the tax
levy can only be decreased and not increased. The final budget and levy will be set December 11,2017,
which is also the night of Orono's Truth-in-Taxation meeting. Olson stated public input will be allowed
prior to final adoption that evening.
Olson noted the only change from the presentation on September 11 is that the Pavement Management
Levy was decreased from$500,000 to$383,000,which resulted in a tax rate decrease from 16.882
percent to 16.529 percent.
