Definitions � Sec.32.102. (a) General. For definitions of AWNINGS, TEMPORARY : i MEMBRANE STRUCTURE and TENT,see Article 9. : (b) Limited Application. For the purpose of this article, certain terms are defined as follows: ASSEIIBLY is the gathering together of 10 or more persons for deliberation, education, instruction, worship, enteRainment, amusement, drinking or dining establishments,or awaiting transportation. � CANOPY is a temporary structure,enclosure or shelter constructed of fabric or piiable material supported by any manner except by air or the contents it protects and is open,without sidewalls or drops,on 75 percent or more of the perimeter. � TEMPORARY STRUCTURE is an enclosure or shelter constructed of materials as described in this article and erected for a period of less ihan 180 days. K Permits Sec.32.103. For permits to erect tents, temporary membrane structures or canopies,see Section 4.108. Use Period Sec.32.104.The use of tents,canopies or temporary membrane structures shall � not exceed a use period of 180 days within a 12-month period on a single premises. Locations,Access and Parking Sec.32.105.Location of tents,canopies and temporary membrane struc[ures, shall be in accordance with Table No.32.105-A.Fire access roadways and parking of automobiles or other intemal combustion engines shall be in accordance with Table No.32.105-A. �;� ;v, Structural Stability �g' Sec.32.106. Tents, canopies and temporary membrane structures and their aPpurtenances shall be adequately roped,braced and anchored to withstand the elements of weather against collapsing.Evidence of stractural stability shall be fumished to the chief upon request. Sources of Ignition Sec.32.108.(a)Smoking.Smoking shall not be permitted in ten[s,canopies and temporary membrane structures or in adjacent areas where hay,straw,sawdust or any other combustible materials are stored or used unless approved by the chief. `Vhen required,approved NO SMOKING signs shall be conspicuously posted. (b) Fireworks,Open Flames and Hot Objects.Fireworks,open flames,and devices emitting flames or fire or creating a glow capable of igniting combustible materials shall not be used in or adjacen[to a tent,canopy or temporary membrane structure,unless approved by the chief. M Portable Fire Extinguishers and Other Fire-protection Appiiances�� Sec.32.109. Fire extinguishers and other fire protection appliances shall be provided in every tent,canopy and temporary membrane structure as follows: (a) Minimum fire-extinguisher coverage shall be provided in every tent, canopy and temporary membrane structure as follows: 1. 200 to 500 squaze feet of floor area:One 2-A:10-B:C. �501 to 1,000 square feet of floor area:Two 2-A•10-B•C 3. Each additional 2,000 squaze feet of floor area or fraction thereof: One 2-A:10-B:C. (b) Fire extinguishers shall be provided for each kitchen, mess hall, power generator or transformer,locations where flammable or combustible liquids are used,and other loca[ions in accordance with U.F.C.Standard No. 10-1. (c) At least one 40-B:C-rated fire extinguisher shall be provided for each kitchen, mess hall, power generator or transformer and at locations where flammable or combustible liquids are used,stored or dispensed. (c) Location.Heating and cooking equipment shall not be located within 10 feet of exits,aisles,passageways or combustible materials. Gas-, solid-and liquid-fuel-buming cooking equipment located outside of a tent,canopy or temporary membrane structure shall not be located within 30 feet of such structures. Flammabie and Combustible Liquids and LP-Gas � Sec.32.118.Flammable or combustible liquids and LP-gas shall not be stored in a tent or temporary membrane structure or less than 50 feet from such structures. The storage and dispensing of flammable or combustible liquids shali be in ac- cordance with Arcicle 79. Liquefied petroleum gas shall not be stored or used in connection with a tent, canopy or temporary membrane structure unless[he storage containers,equip- ment,fi[tings and appliances and[he placement,use and operation of such equip- ment comply with Article 82.
