Gentlemen/Ladies:
Subject: REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding plumbing at Creative Kids Academy,
2180 North Share Dr., Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota, Plan No. PLB 1203-00024
We are NOT able to grant approval at this time of the plans and specifications submitted for the above-
designated project. The following comment(s) outline the changes andior additional infrmatiou t11at must be
submitted so that we can further evaluate the plans and specifications for compliance with the standards of this
department:
1. All pot, scullery, food prep, and bar sinks must be provided with a floor drain on the individual drainage
branch serving each sink. This floor drain must not be equipped with a backwater valve (see Minnesota
Rules, part 4715.1390, subpart 2). Each food prep and each pot/scullery sink must comply with this
requirement. Please revise the plans and show this accordingly.
2. All commercial kitchen sinks, with the exception of mop sinks and hand sinks, shall be provided with 3/4-
inch hot and cold water supply branch lines as a minimum (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1730,
subpart 2).
3. Sufficient hot water shall be provided to adequately serve fixtures that require hot water for the proper
functioning of the fixtures. Please review and verify compliance for this requirement.
4. Our understanding is that the plumbing system designer, Mr. Mike Garrity, PM061582 is no longer with
your company. Minnesota licensing law allows a master plumber to design and install his own installation.
Therefore, a new set of plans must be submitted with a signature of the master plumber for your company.
Please submit the requested information promptly so we may complete our plan review. No construction related
to the above-referenced plans shall begin until approval is provided by our office. When submitting additional
information, please refer to Plan No. PLB 1203-00024.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 651/284-5898.
Sincerely,

diameter pipe is six drainage fixture units(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2310,subpart 2).
4. At the point where a 2-inch drainage branch increases in size,a cleanout must be provided. If a fixture
drainage branch is installed at the point where the pipe increases in size and if the fixture drainage branch is
the same diameter as the lazger pipe,it may serve as the cleanout for this portion of the system. Cleanouts
must be of the same nominal size as the pipes they serve up to 4 inches in diameter and not less than 4
inches for larger piping(see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.1010).
