Box 66 Orono, MN 55356 Crystal Bay, MN 55323-0066 December 6, 1999 Dan Anderson 2730 Fernbrook Lane Plymouth, Mn 554473 This letter is in regards to 1720 North Farm Rd. in the City of Orono. A variance is granted for the well to be fifty feet from the absorption area of the future mound site and fifty-five feet to the At-Grade System, where Orono requires a seventy-five foot setback. The variance is being granted because, although the setbacks do not meet the Orono Septic Code, the setbacks to the well do meet the minimum State standards. A variance is granted for a ten foot setback to the property line along County Road 6, where Orono would require a twenty foot setback . A variance is also granted for the septic systems to be placed on slopes of seven percent where Orono would require a maximum slope of six percent. The variances are granted because there are no other septic sites on the lot, the existing septic system is non-conforming, and all setbacks in the design meet minimum State codes. A building permit will be issued for the addition to the existing house dependent upon the following conditions: l. The septic system must be installed no later than July 1, 2000. 2. If the addition is to be occupied prior to the installation of the septic system, a letter of credit must be submitted to the City of Orono to cover the cost of installing the system. This amount will be determined by Orono staff. 3. A septic permit will need to be secured for installation of the septic system and all necessary inspections will be conducted in a timely manner. I agree to all the above conditions in regards to 1720 North Farm Rd. _ _r n-Site Systems Manager Telephone(G12)249-4600 • Fax(612)249-4616
