An inspector should conduct a site visit and con�rm the following:
1.The survey accurately depicts conditions on the ground.
2.The site is stabilized to the point the any remaining erosion control can be removed.

Paul,
While performing a site visit to finalize the as-built survey the building official noted rock on plastic in several areas
around the house. The as-built survey did not show these areas,as required. The definition of hardcover is hard surface
that prevents or retards entrv of water into the soil and causes water to run off the surface in greater quantities and at an
increased rate of flow than prior to development. Hardcover shall include but not be limited to the following:all building
foorprints, driveways,sidewa/ks,stepping stones, retaining walls,patios, courts(sport, tennis, etc.), decks,pools, areas used
for the extended outdoor storage of vehicles or equipment, and all other similar features or surfaces as determined by the city
engineer or city planner. Plastic lining under the rock areas is considered hardcover and must be accounted for on the as-
built survey and hardcover calculations.
Please have the survey updated to reflect the rock on plastic areas and submit updated hardcover calculations using our
Hardcover Calculation Worksheet,attached.
