Subject: 3895 Bayside Road, Orono- Potential MCWD Permit Needed
Good Afternoon Carolyn,
As a follow-up to our phone conversation last week. A proposed addition at 3895 Bayside Road in the city of Orono will
require a MCWD Erosion Control permit�the work will disturb 5,000 sf of land and/or 50 cubic yards of
excavation/fill. Per the MCWD map,there appears to be a 152 order stream that is on the western side of Westlake
Street that crosses under the road (presumably through a culvert) and continues along the northern border of Bayside
Road ("ditched area"). Additionally,there is potential for wetland fringe associated with the stream/ditch.
MCWD Wetland Protection rule does not apply to single family home additions. Per our conversation, I will coordinate
internally with our field staff to complete a site visit to determine if a wetland delineation is needed for the City of
Orono's setback ordinance.
