Dear Mr. Richie:
On June 7, 1988, an inspection was conducted at the above subject property
which revealed the following zoning code violations:
Storage af hospital beds and various other items outside of building.
The above is in violation of Orono Municipal Code Section 9.55. I am
writing this letter to inform you that corrective action must be made
before July 14, 1988. If corrections have not been made by this time,
citations wi 11 be issued and you wi 11 have to appear in court to explain
why you will not correct this matter.

Conditions exist on the indicated property which constitute a violation of the following section(s) of the
Orono Zoning Ordinance:
X SECTION 9.50. JUNh' CARS, FURNITURE, HOIISEHOLD FURNISHINGS AND
APPLIANCES STORED ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY.
It is unlawful to park or store any unlicensed, unregistered or inoperable motor vehicle lacking
essential parts,household furnishings or appliances,or parts or components thereof,on any property,
public or private, unless housed within a lawfully erected building. Any violation of this Section
is declared to be a nuisance and upon seven days written notice to the owner, as shown by the
records in the office of the County Auditor, of private premises on which such material is found,the
City may remove the same and certify the cost of such removal as any other special assessment.
For the purpose of this Section, an inoperable motor vehicle shall be defined as lacking, including
but not limited to, parts essential to operation, such parts being wheels, tires, motor, drive train,
battery, or having two or more flat tires, or having the interior, including the driver's position, used
for storage in such a manner that no person can operate the vehicle.
SECTION 9.55. MAINTENANCE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY.
SUBD. 1. It is the duty of the owner of every vacant property and the owner and occupant of every
occupied property to maintain same in a neat,clean and presentable manner free of any junk,debris,
refuse, litter, dead trees, or noxious weeds, and to remove all other public health or safety hazards
therefrom.
x SUBD. 2. Grass and Weeds. The owner or occupant of every lot or parcel shall regularly cut or
otherwise maintain all grass and weeds thereon at a height of not more than six(6) inches.
Please take action to comply with the above ordinance requirement(s) by september 8, 1997
A follow-up inspection will be made at that time to verify compliance.

This letter is re a�din the boat and car that are stored on your property at 3220 Navarre

Lane. Orono requlires all boats that are stored on a property to be owned be the property
owner. It appears that one of the boats is owned by Martin Linden of Miru�etonka.
Please remove that boat by December 8, 2004. Orono also requires that all cars have
current tabs and li ensed. The Nissan pathfinder must be licensed and moved out of the
right of way or re oved by December 8, 2004. If the car is not removed by this date,
Orono may have i towed and you will be accessed the fees.

RE: City Code Violation at 3220 Navarre Lane
Property Identification Number: 17-117-23-44-0058
City staff received a complaint about signage displayed on the building at 3220 Navarre Lane
� which is located in the LR-1 C zoning district. Within residential districts, only a nameplate sign,
finro (2) square feet in area is permitted to be displayed. The nameplate sign must not display a
business name or business type. The signage displayed is in violation of City Code Section
78-1467 regarding sign allowances in residential districts.
This letter will serve as your notice that the property must be brought into compliance
before Wednesdav, Seatember 19, 2012. In order to bring the property into compliance all
signage must be removed from the exterior of the building.

Sec. 78-1467. Signs in R districts.
Within R districts,the following signs are permitted:
(1) Nameplates.
a. One nameplate sign for each dwelling, and such sign shall not exceed two square
feet in area per surface, and no sign shall be so constructed as to have more than
two surfaces.
b. One nameplate sign for each dwelling group of six or more units, and such sign
shall not exceed six square feet in area per surface, and no sign shall be so
constructed as to have more than two surfaces.
c. One nameplate sign for each permitted use or use by conditional permit other than
residential, and such sign sha11 not exceed 12 square feet in area per surface.
(2) Illumination. Symbols, statues, sculptures and integrated architectural features on
nonresidential buildings may be illuminated by floodlights provided the direct source of
light is not visible from the public right-of-way or adjacent residential district.
(3) Setbacks. Any sign over one-half square foot shall be set back at least five feet from any
property line.No sign shall exceed eight feet in height above the average grade level.
Signs may be illuminated, but such lighting shall be diffused or indirect.
(4) Home occupations. One nameplate sign containing name and address but not to contain
business name or type of business, and such sign shall not exceed two square feet in area
per surface, nor contain more than two surfaces.
