The person complaining is not so much concerned about the burning itself, and as long as it is confined to a 3x3 fire pit a permit is not required, but the materials being burned. It is causing them to close their windows whenever you are burning. The City allows for only clean dry wood or untreated lumber to be burned. The burning of treated wood/lumber such as plywood, green treated and other products can produce dioxins and other unwanted by-products. I would ask that you please respect the rights of your neighbors to have their windows open when the weather is nice and to only burn clean wood and possibly relocate the fire pit if needed. I would also like to remind you that vehicles need to remain licensed and road worthy. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please feel free to call. Thank you for your cooperation.
