Dear Mr. Koch:
This letter is regarding the storage of boat trailers on your property. It appears you are storing
appro�mately 8 empty boat trailers in the back of your property. Our office sees this as a
commercial use. Commercially storing boat trailers is not an allowable use in a residential
district. You must remove the trailers by July 23, 2001 to be in compliance with Orono's Zoning
Code.

Conditions exist on the indicated property which constitute a violation of the following section(s)of
the Orono Zoning Ordinance:
X SECTION 58-3. JUNK CARS, FURNITURE, HOUSEHOLD FURNISHINGS AND
APPLIANCES STORED ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY.
It is unlawful to park or store any unlicenced,unregistered or inoperable motor vehicle lacking essential parts,
household furnishings or appliances,or parts or components thereof,on any property,public or private,unless
housed within a lawfully erected building. Any violation ofthis Section is declared to be a nuisance and upon
seven days written notice to the owner,as shown by the records in the office of the County Auditor,of private
premises on which such material is found,the City may remove the same and certify the cost of such removal as
any other special assessment. For the purpose of this Section,an inoperable motor vehicle shall be defined as
lacking, includin�but not limited to, parts essential to operation, such parts bein�wheels,tires,motar, drive
train, battery, or having two or more flat tires, or havin;the interior, including the driver's position, used for
storage in such a manner that no person can operate the vehicle.

RE: City Code Violation at 3665 Lyric Avenue
Property Identification Number: 17-117-23-34-0001
. City inspectors observed an inoperable, unlicensed vehicle, plate number 394 CRT, with
no tires at the above address, violating City Code Section 58-3.
' This letter will serve as your notice that the property must be brought into
compliance by July 2, 2009 in order to avoid legal action by the City. In order to
bring your property into compliance the above vehicle must be currently licensed and
operable, or stored in an enclosed building by July 2, 2009. Please be advised, if you �
fail to correct the violations or request an appeal hearing before the City Council prior to
the deadline, the City will correct the violations and the costs to do so will be assessed
against your property [Cite: City Code 58-1(c)]. Those costs will be certified to the
County Auditor and will be collected in the same manner as special assessments
against your property.

Sec. 58-1. Maintenance of private property.
(c) Any violation of this section is declared to be a nuisance and a pubfic safety and
welfare hazard, and upon seven days' written notice to the owner, as shown by
the records of the office of the county auditor, of private premises on which such
material is found or any conditions in violation of this code section exist, the city
may remove such matter or correct any conditions in violation, and certify the
cost of such removals or corrections as any other special assessment.
Sec. 58-3. Junk cars, furniture, household furnishings and appliances stored on
public or private property.
It is unlawful to park or store any unlicensed, unregistered or inoperable motor vehicle
lacking essential parts, household furnishings or appliances, or parts or components, on
any property, public or private, unless housed within a lawfully erected building. Any
violation of this section is declared to be a nuisance; and upon seven days' written notice

Re: Unlicensed inoperable vehicle
Dear Mr. Koch,
It has come to the attention of the city that you have an unlicensed inoperable vehicle stored on
your property. This letter is to notify you that this is a violation of Orono Municipal Code section
58-3. Therefore the city must require you to remove the vehicle from the property or make the
vehicle licenced and operable before June 6"' 2009. If this deadline is not met the city will
remove and dispose of the vehicle.
