The rights of individual on whom the data is stored or to be stored shall be as set forth in this secdon. Subd.2. Information required to be given individual. An individual asked to supply private or confidendal data conceming himself shall be informed of: (a)the purpose and intended use of the requested data wirhin the collecting'�tate agency,polidcal subdivision,or statewide system; (b)whether he may refuse or is legally required to supply the requested data;(c)any known coasequence arising from his supplying or refitsing W supply private or confidenrial data;and(d)che identity of other persoas or enaties authorized by srate or fedecal law to�eceive the data. This requirement shall not apply when an individual is asked to supp(y invesdgadve data, pursuant[o secrion 13.82,subdivision 5, to a law enforcement officer. Access to data by individual. Data in dispute shall be disclosed only if the individual's statement of disagreement is included with the disclosed data. There is a limit to the dollar value of the improvement which may be exempted. The limit depends on the a�e of the property. Houses that are less than 3�years of age do not qualify. Houses that are at least 35 years of age but less than 70 years are limited to one-half of the value of the improvement up to a maximum exemption of�2�,000. Houses that.are 70 years of ase or older are eligible to have the total value of any improvements exempted up to a ma.tiimum of 5�0,000. Reshinglin�a roof, painting the house, repairing a foundation, replacing a plumbin� fixture are all e:camples oi improvements that would not ordinarily result in a value increase. • Improvements made to an inditiidual's home often times reflect that particular individual's personal likes or interesu and most times the cost cannot be recovered when a property is sold. Adding a sauna, a gre�nnouse or an indoor swz.-nr.iing pool would all be examoies of improvements that t�pically add less value than their cost. • Improvements made to different areas of a house typically result in greater or lesser returns.
