Orono, Henn. Co., MN
A Compliance inspection was completed for the existing on-site sewage tratment
system located on this property. The system consists of 2-1000 gallan septic tanks, 1-
1000 gallon pumping chamber& 5 trenches pproximately 80' long each = 12QOsq.ft.
built an 8-6-1987.
Soil boring #1 found mottied soil (redox features) at 1.5' below the ground surface
approximately 15'west of the trenches. The top of the rock at the 2nd tank was found
at 1' below the surface & the bottom at 2.5' leaving no separation from the bottom of the
trench & redox features. Boring #2 found mottled soil at 2', 12' west of the 4th trench.
The top of rock was at 1' &the bottom at 2.5' leaving no separation. This system is
classified as non-compliant due to not meeting the required separation from the bottom
of the trenches 8 redox features.
City records indicate the system has surface discharged in 1993, 1994 & 1996. Ifi the
system surFace dischrges, this is classified as an imminent threat to public health &
safety & needs to be upgraded within 1p months or as determined by the City of Orono.

Mr. Robert Corby

Maple Plain, Minnesota 55359
Dear Mr. Corby:
Due to the extremely wet year, we realize that the required repair of your septic system may
have been difficult to complete last summer. This is a reminder that the septic system repair
will be required next year.
A licensed septic contractor must get a permit from the City of Orono by July 15, 1994 for the
repair of your septic system. The procedure for completing septic system repairs is shown
below. Please contact me at the City offices if there are any questions.
PROCEDURE FOR SEPTIC SYSTEM REPAIR
1. Hire a Site Evaluator/System Designer to do the soil testing and system design.
2. Submit the design to the Ciry for approval.
3. Once the design is approved, have one or more contractors bid on the approved design.
4. The contractur you choose should then obtain a permit from the City before starting work.
He will call the City for the required inspections.
Sincerely,
i
