The regular meeting of Lne Council of the Village of Orono was
held at 7:30 p.m. on r�ugust 10, 19�9 at the Village Hall at
Crystal Ba�, :�Iinneso�a.
Those in attendance were :

In the absence of O.E. Johnson, Clerk, R.C. Bagley recorded the
minutes of the meeting.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to dispense with
the reading of the minutes of the meeting held on July 27, 1959.
The question of record keepin� on loads oi gravel picked up
at Keller Bros . Gravel Coi�pany was discussed, and it was thought
advisable that one of the Council Nlembers call on them to check
their record s�stem and to suggest any changes or rlodifications
, that might apply more suitabl� to our own methods.
. �_" ;' Constables Jerry Ross and Leo Barnhardt discussed the need for
a third man, and on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously
carried, authorization was made to contact Emerson Dressel
of Maple Plain, Minnesota, provided he has pre�r?ousl; resigned
zrom the position he has held at t�aple Plain. He is not to
be contacted as long as he has other duties .
�� Mayor Ross asked for and received unanimous approval of his
appointme�t of K. Turnham to serve on a Steering Committee
of tha,i�tpt�!�S�d�tr' c roup of Municipalities.

Tom Traff, with Architect Dick Banman, presented a request
, that permission be given them to erect a dwelling in the Bay
Ridge Addition which might come slightly eloser than 10 feet
- � from the property lines. No action was taken.
Orville Keiran, owner of the Stubbs Bay Resort, appeared with �
a contractor to present plans and ask approval for further
development of his property in that resort area. After con-
siderable discussion wherein modifications of his plan were
suggested, he agreed to come back to a later meeting for further
review.

Richard Davis of Navarre was given permission to construct a
20t x 22� garage in the manner described in his application.
Trustee Wood and Assessor Hanson had looked at the property
and they approved.
Mr. Lund of Eberhardt Compan� presented a statement for approval
and signature of the Nayor concerning maintenance and use of
a public road by the Village. This was approved and copy placed
on file .
Rueben and Ward Parten were given assurance that the division
o� the piece of property they own, 335' x 700t , into three lots
would not be objectionable in view of existing conditions, but
it was pointed out that future councils could not be bound by -_.
this decisior_.
Ver-ified accounts No. �}.52 through Z}.81 were approved for payment. �
Assessor Hanson agreed to contact the Fire Niarshall concerning
the hazzard presented to local r•esidents by the old vacant house
located just north of the Tronrud Store . Nr. Hirsch is the
attorney representing same .
The 4�rilliam Walters � plat was approved f'or development; this
being the final proposal, wnich included only one lot having
less than 25, 000 square feet.
It being 1:20 a.m. , other business was tabled and motion to
adjourn was moved, seconded, and unanimously carried.
