1�inutes of ineetin� held in the Village Hall on April I3,I959,at 7; 30 P�i.
Present: H.R.Roas,Mayor; B. Turnham,E.O.Wood,C.W.B�axwell�R.C.Bagley, Trustees.

I�r.Ti�. J.Long,Accountant,presented atate�ent of prof it and loss covering the
operation of the liquor st�re �or period biar.4 through B�ar 3I I959. He outlined
the neceasity for the purenase of a calculator at a price of �408.00 which ,;,:�X
the Council approved and which wiTl be availanle immediatly. �
Messre.Rice and Luger from Alavarre Corners outlined the necessity for providing
play-ground space at that location and agreed to off er $pace now available
measuring approximatly I34 ft.x 350 ft. ,for that purpo$e at an annual lease �z
basis of �I.00 per year.It will howEver be necessary to have some work dont
on the grounds and Foreman Stinson will be delegated to check into the matter
and report hie findings at next meeting f or submittal to Park Com:nittee.
P�.r. S�E�ler o� the 1�or.3tat,es Power Co. ,Excelsior,reported that our• present, con-
tra.ct for street li�nting will expire on Oct.27��9�9,and that a new contract
will be present�d ior renewal at which tim� we will probably take in� the
consideration of assuming the operation of lights now ineluded in the Highwood
area on basis of �30.00 �or li�hts now opera�ed by �he Interstate Power Co. _-
Accepted as inf ormat3on for consideration later.
:�rs.Roy Gerber,Librarian at the Old Hill School,reported that the B;innetonka -
��nter of Art� and Education,who occupy a portion of the ouilding,nad painted
their qua.rters and that tne library portion needed similar attention.
�ouncil menbers will investi�ate for furtner consideration.
:;;r•.Lester Davidson,Cizairman,of tne ;��'est Hennepin Joint Plannir� Dis�rict,
requested approval of a resolution involvin� expens- in obtaining Planning
�ase map Land 'use Survey and other information which would result in obtaining
a f'edera� �ra nt of �5000.00 to help def ray the total expense.Council asreed
