Re: Grading Plan, 1290 Loma Linda Avenue
Dear Mr. Udell:
I am advised by Building Inspector Lyle Oman that you have
resolved issues regarding purchase of the property, and wish to
have us continue the building permit review. Today I walked the
property and was somewhat surprised at the apparent plans to do
major regrading of the property to accommodate a rear walkout
house.
Because of the magnitude of this grading, before a permit
can be issued, we will need a detailed grading plan indicating
existing and proposed 2' contours for the entire lot. Before you
proceed with having that grading plan drafted, perhaps we should
meet on the property to discuss any alternatives you might have
in preserving at least a few of the mature trees on the site.
Although the City currently has no ordinance prohibiting this
tree cutting, I sense that the magnitude of changes proposed for
this lot might be minimized through additional planning
discussion.
