� In the absence of O.E. Johnson, Clerk, R.C. Bagley acted
as Clerk.
The Council called up for personal interviews, in sticcession,
the following individuals who had submitted applications
for the position of Manager of the proposed Orono Muni.cipal
Liquor Store :
W.O. Ackerman
Leonard Enger
Frank Fink
R.D. Grant
:�w�::= Art W. Kearns .
M.M. McCarthy
The interviews having been concluded, the applicants were
informed that they would be notified in due course of time
as to their acceptability.
A discussion ensued with respect to the qnalifications of the
� above named applicants and the following x�esQlution Kas then
unanimously adopted:
Resolve that it is the consensns of this Council
that W.O. Ackerman be hired to manage the Village
Municipal Liquor Store, subject to a further
check on references and acquaintenances, and
that his compensation be $1.�25 per month, and
his employment begin on or about February 1, 1959.
William Mills came before the Council asking final approval
of his plan for the Swan Lake Addition. He explained .that he

�ras unanle to secure a Periormance Bond as requssted b�
the Council to guarantee the completion of a roadway in
satisfactor� Form. After full discussion, and on advice
of Attorney Newhall, it was agreed to accept from him in
lieu of bond a letter as Pollows:
"We, William T. Mills and doyce J. Mills, agree
to give to the Village of Orono, in return for
their approval of the plat of the Swan Lake Addition,
a secor_�d mortgage on LoL iVa. 7, Block 1 of that
Addition, to secure the installation of the roads
as provided for in the Plat, and will execute such
mortgage as soon as it can be prepared.
It is understood that the Council does not intend
by this action to waive its right to assess property
owners in the Swan Lake Addition for the costs of
constructing such roads if that project should prove
not to have been properly attended to by the undersigned. rr
� -. There being no further business to be brought before the meeting,
motion to �djourn was made, seconded and unanimously carried.
