A delegation from the Crystal Bay area was present relative maintenance of a :
public swimming beach on Smith Bay.Ad�acent property owners are ob�ecting �_;�:
thereto.The Council decided to contact those ob�jecting and report the result �
for a further discussion at our next meeting. �
Arthur Kearns was present and discussed the Civil Def ense situation and ;
offered to cneck into the present status and bring up at a later meeting
for furtner consideration. � �
L-�embers o� the Village Council o� l�Iound presented a proposal for handling
fire calls by tne I��lound Fire Dept.within the Orono Villa�e limite.Comnittees
��ere ap�ointed to contact other ad,jacent tTillage an� City Councils ior -
further data and consideration at our ne�:t meeting.
Justices of the Peace,R�?n� and Halverson,tivere present and discussed our :�: ;
policing situation.They agreed to contac� Constable Ross for the purpose of �.-�?:�
adjusting any misunderstanding tnat aay have existed in the past. _
Due to the la.te snowin� of movies by the Navarre A�phi Theatr� at Navarre, :
Council decided to not�fy �heir ma.nagement tnat all public entertainment
must close on or before 2:00 o� clock A.I�,�i. Clerk instructed to notify the�
accordingl�C.
Turnham moved, seconded by Neddermeyer,for tize aauireing flf the necessary
property, eitner voluntary or by condemnatior�,ior the co�pletion of the
�endrickson Bridge on County Road Tvo.SI ana tnat tne Villa�e of Orono assume
the expenae involved,and tn�t County Commissioner Ainsworth and County Engr.
�eterGen,ae asked to confer furtner �ritn our Council relative thereto and also }.rz
the proposed changes in the ri�nt-of-wayof Counz3T P�oad No. 5I.I,Yotion approved r'=-
by vote o�' five yeas and no neas.
On aav3.se of Attorney PJev�hall, cneck �ubmittied by petitioners for expense for �
tne holding of a special electior on tne "ti�et-dry�'issue ��ras ordered returned
v�ritn z�vise that the issue t�ould be presented at the ne�t annual election.
Licenae fees for 3.2 beer permita, eff ective July first,I957,were establisned .
on basis of �I5.00 for LOff'-Sale'� and �'75.00 for '�On-Sale" .
Turnnan reported th�.t litter barrels would be furnisn.ed for distribution and
maintenance py the Village and placed at points best suited f or operation.
Verif ied accounts 2do.320 througn No.355 were presented and approved f or tne 4 _
clearance of current obligations. �
