Minutes of mceting held in the Village Hall on July 9, I956 at 7530 P.M.
Present: H.R.Ross,nQayor; I'. Turnham,R.N.Neddermeyer,E. 0.Wood,Truetees;
G.A. Hanaon,Aasessor;A.G. Stinson,Foreman; Uerald Roas,Con�table;
O. E. Johneon, Clerk.
Visitor,Ruxton strong,President Orono Taxpayers Assn.
On motion of Nedderm�yer seconded by Turnham, the minutea of ineeting held
on June 25th were approved as aubmitted.
Ruxton �trong presented recomendation of the Taxpayers Aesn.that our Council
consider the po�sibility of establishing four election districts in the
Villzge to of'faet the overload of the present two di�trlets .Ag�eid that
Council will endeavor to aecure other �uitable locations and revise our
preeent boundari�e for further consideration.
Const�.ble Roes reported on current activitiea of the two Constabl�s and was
requested to watch speeding violations as much as possible to reduce the
trattic hazards.
Mecsra .Behrner and Peterson,residente of' Casco Point,appeared requesting
Council consideration of the possibility o� oiling or agplying a duet-coat
or c�lcium to reduce the dust nuieance on roAds in their area.
Forem�.n Stinson to check into the matter further.
Fred �4yera,Crystal Bay�and a delegation,requested additional time to complete
their investigation of the proposed change on County Road I5 at Brackett' s
Point.It was underat�od that the Taxpayers Assn.have called a meeting f or
consideration of thia aub��ct and Mr.P�4yers was eo advieed and will handle
with them further.
Orono Coneolidated School District # II have requested that they be furni�hed
two, 22 foot culvert$, f'or drainage purposea.Council agreed to furnish thsm
and I�eddermeyer will follow up further thro Supt.Haehlen of Diet.# II.
The Board of Equalization ia echeduled to meet at the Village Hall on Thured�r
