HomeMy WebLinkAboutRe; tree inspection-2002 TO: Memo to File FROM: Matt Bolterman, On-Site Systems Manager DATE: Apri18, 2002 SUBJECT: Tree Inspection for 1040 Loma Linda Ave On Apri15,2002 I inspected the trees at the above address. The property owner wants to cut down three trees on his lakefront property. One tree is dead and can be cut. This tree has to be replaced by a 2-3 inch diameter tree in its place. The other tree by the lake is not dead but it is rotting out at the trunk. I told him that he must get a tree expert on-site to determine if the tree needs to be removed. After we get the report we will decide if it can be cut. The tree by the house is over 75 feet from lake and not on a slope. He can cut this tree. The property owner agreed to all of the requirements. The tree as completely hollow with only a narrow band vf solid tissue around most of the diameter of the trunk. ln addition it has an open split for a considerable distance up the trunk. This a]low:,moisture to enter with great potential for additional rotting. 'he tree ac present is a distinct hazard. It could very easily fall down in a wind or ice storm especially since Lindens are a soft wooded tree. Sincerey, i ,. P- Tr.
