The submittal information is as follows: Owner: Kevin & Paige Amster Wall Design Engineer: KBH Consulting, Inc. Certificate of Survey: Precision Surveys, Inc. certified October 9, 2007 Retaining Wall Submittal: KBH Letter dated October 9, �007 w/wall specification and section Date Received; October 16, 2007 These are privately owned retaining walls that will be installed arountl the proposed pool on the property. We have reviewed design submittal for conformance with the International Building Code. The KBH wall submittal does not provide the factors of safety for the wall design. The design engineer should submit the factors of safety for overturning, sliding, and soil bearing capacity to the City of Orono. No geotechnical information was provided for our review. We highly recommend that the soils used to construct the retaining wall are verified by a qualified geotechnical engineer for the soil properties that are used in the wall design.
