The Control Panel and approved gas valve shail be located where they can be easily accessible so tt�at the gas can be shut off qufckly in case of an emergency. 2.4 lnstall the Control Panel and gas piping as shown in Fig. 1(Natural Gas) or Fig. 2 {Propane Gas) or Fig.3 (Cammercial Installation). 2.5 Note that propane piping is different than natural gas (shown in Fig. 1 and Fig.2). 2.6 The gas piping shaN be installed underground beriveen the Control Panel and each Flrs Bowl as showm in Fig. 1. The piping shall be reduced to 1/2° NPT or�arger at each bowl as shown in Fig. 4. 2.7 Low voltage wiring (14 or 16 ga. 24Vac) shall be installed undemround between the Cont�ol Panel and each Bawl. Wire per Grand EfFects wiring diagram. 120 v source into Cantrol Panel can come from any 120v source, induding pool controller or home system. 2.8 Maintain good piping practice by keeping pipe length and elbows to a minimum to eliminate unnecessary pressure drops. Corrugated flex gas lines should not be used. 2.81 Gas and eiectric shouid be centered in mlddle of column, 2.85 Dr commeraal installations, it is recommended to instafl a keyed switch and kill switch located in close proximity and in vislble sight of feature or features. You should be able to hear and see the electrode spark. If there is no spark, make sure that the Burner Assembly is receiving 24vac from the Cont�ol Panel. Check that the Main Gas Adjusting Vaive is in the full open position. It is located on the � bottam of the Burner Assembly as shown in Fig. 7. 3.3 Reposition Burner Assembly so that it is sitting level in the Bowl, 3.4 At the Control Panel, open the Manual Gas Valve. 3.5 In the Control Panel, turn the Burner switch to the "On" position. 3.8 Aft�r all Bowls have been lit, they can now be adjusted f�or flame size. {mportant: At this time the corrosponding Fire Bowl shauld ignite. If Burner does not Ilght� it may be a result of air in the gas line. If this happens,caretully purge the air from the gas line. FAX 8�2445'96' 90UOL I�O11 Burner Adtustment Note: Each Burner should have a flame height af approximately 12"—15"from the top of the Bowl. 3.70 The height of th�fiame can be adjusted at each Burner by opening or ciosing the%z" Gas Va1ve or Keyed Valve as shown in Fig. 4. ' 3.75 Each Burner should be adjusted as required so that the flarna size at each Bowl is � similar in appeacance to each other. 3.80 After aH Burners have been adjusted, make sure that the Burner Assembly is . repositioned so that it is sitting level In each Bow1. 3.65 Install decorative rock or gkass on top of the"Burner Support" and Burner Assy. Larger lava rock is recomriended (2"-4" in size). It will work better than smaller rock. Make sure that all rock is clear of the pilot area and hoad area. Filot Haad area needs to remain clear of rock for proper ventilation. 3.90 �Vote: Do not use glass with prapane installations. (If you use glass, you wil{ need to lay down stainless screen to prevent glass from faliing through-please consult Grand Effects Glass Install Manual. (f you usell4" pieces of lava it should be treated as a gfass installation). Important: Both sides of Pifot Hood need to be clsar of rock far proper ventilation and opera4ion. Do not use Flre Glass with propane insta{lations.!! 4.0 Maintenance 4.1 Periodically clean the Bumer Assembly and Bowl with a wet cloth ��cleaning solution to remove carban build-up. 4.2 Frequency of the cleaning wilf depend on usage. 4,3 Frequently inspect the gap between the base of the Bowl and the Mounting Bracket. It should be kept free of dirt and debrls that may restrict cooling air and drainage. See {Fig. 10) 4.�F Periodically Inspect the underside of the Bumer Assembly for any signs of excessive temperatures. 4.5 Checic that all gas connections are tight. 4.6 The units should be cycled trequently (especially after a rain). The Burner Assembly will not work in snow and ice conditions. The Burner Assembly should be covered and protected from snow and ice. The Burner should not be operated in high wind conditions. High winds can lirnit the cooling air required for caoling of the Burner Assembly and cause over heating of the efectronics. Important: The System needs to be turned oNoff after a rain to remove any wa�r in the pllot area. Before any inspection of the unit, always tum off power and gas suppiy at the Control PaneL 10. If you experience probfems with this unit, call Grand Effects or a licensed heating professionaf.
