T•7.y0i3�N6 LA. <br /> is an old fashioned town rteetinq to talk about PROPO�ED SEWERS <br /> rnutual problems and to learn the situation and <br /> get facts and alternatives frorl staff to resolve <br /> sewer problerls in the community. <br /> The t4ayor explained the purpose of the Metropolitan <br /> Council, which is composed of four s��steMs that <br /> they are responsible for: r4etropolitan �irports, <br /> i�setropolitan Parks System, Pietropolitan "'ransit, <br /> and i4etropolitan Sewer S_ystems. <br /> The Piayor stated that the interceptor now being <br /> installed is to eliminate the Orono and Lonc� Lake <br /> sewac�e pJ_ants allowing the effluent to flow <br /> directiv to Blue Lake Plant on the Piinnesota River <br /> and is heing paid for with tax dollars, f�e next <br /> explained the Psetropolitan Urban �ervice Area, <br /> (MUSA Line) . . <br /> t4ayor Van idest introduced t4ike Gaf_.fron, Orono' s <br /> Se�tic Inspector, stating that he is resPonsible <br /> for overseeing on-site septic systems in the rural <br /> service area. <br /> Mr. i'Iike �affron presented a sumr_Zary concerning <br /> existing conditions and explained theri in r.lore <br /> detail. He exPlained which areas are nrobler_i <br /> areas stating that the properties were nlatted , <br /> _years ago into small lots which also includec� <br /> �aetlands, which also affects septic systems.
