1. Applications for septic system permits may be mailed or submitted in person at the City
offices; however, permits will not be mailed out. The permit must be picked up in person at
the City offices and work must not begin unless the permit card is on the job site.

2. Permits will be only issued to contractors holding a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
(MPCA) Septic System Installers License.
3. A�I work must be done in accordance with the approved septic system design.
4. The following inspections will be required for all septic systems:
A. Tank installation prior to covering.
B. Drainfield trench installation prior to covering. For mounds, inspection is required after
rough up, but prior to sand placement (sand must be jar tested for silt content) and
again during pressure distribution piping installation in the rock bed.
C. Final inspection to verify final cover depths and to verify that all pump station (where
required) components are functional and comply with codes.
5. MPCA licensed Installers or their DRP (Designated Responsible Person) shall be present
during all inspections.

This on-site Sewage Treatment System is desi�ned for a T}pe 1,five bedroom home in accordance with the
Minnesota Pollution Control ,4��enc� Chapter 7080 and Iocal ordinances.
The periodicallv saturated soils were located at 23-�6 inches(mottled sail). Due ta the periodicalh
saturated soils,a pressurized mound system ��ith 6 inches of rock 4vi11 need to be installed to treat the septic
eTtluent. The b�ttorn ut the treahnent area must be located at least 3' above the saturated soils.This s��stem
is designed w ith 6 inches of rock. �
The soils at a depth of!�"have a percolation rate averaging 9.9 MPI.
A?2�0;allvn septic tanks needs to be installed. All tanks need to be insulated if there is tess than two feet
of cover aver the t�p of the tanks.Clean outs must be installed on the end of the laterals for maintenance.
Use 7 ;? inch perforations on the laterals.
A 1300 gallon pumping chamber�rill need to be installed to lift the eftluent to the treatment area.The
power suppl� and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping chamber in a weatherproof
enclosure. A��arnin�device must be installed with li�ht and sound devices;this is in case of a pump
failure. A flow measurement device must be installed�. Includinm but not limited to a water meter.event
counter.running time clocks or electronically controlled dosin��.
