Coruaission, April 17, 1979
The Orono Council met on the above date with the
following members present: Ma1or �Ian Nest, Council-
rnernbers Butler, i'Iassengale and Paurus . Also present:
City Adriinistrator Benson, City Planner Olson, and
Assistant Building Inspector iSahusth.

14ayor Van Nest reviewed the Council position COUNCIL POSITION
applicants announcing that the following persons APPLICANTS
have showen_ an interest to serve our_ City:

- qualifications of all the applicants and in main- Jo Ellen Hurr
taining our policy of appointing experienced persons
from our Planning Commission to the Council, I would
like to entertain a motion to appoint JoEllen Hurr
to fill the vacancy for the City Council due to the
transfer of Paul Pesek whose terr.► expires December 31,
1981,

i4ayor Van Nest noved, Butler seconded, that the STREET REPAIR
City Administrator �arite a letter to Fiennepin County Fox Street
outlining concerns with Hennepin County ' s detour on
Fiennepin County 146 and the increased traffic load
on Fox Street between #�146 and Orono Orchard Road
which is creating traffic control and maintenance
problens that are adverse to the safet��, health,
and welfare of the residents in the area. P�otion,

tlie Orono-Long Lake interceptor construction
project.

E) Review oi Plans From Other Agencies
